From what i gathered MOST of you guys understand why Lou is considering going through with this change, then there's the rest of you who are too worried about comparing it to Pittspeed. Granted ya there's a ton of TOOL BAGS on that site, but u get them with EVERY site ! !. Its all on how the site is managed, Lou and his team of mods do a great job at keeping every1 in line here & if he expands to other makes I'm pretty confident that they will continue to keep up the great work.

I voted no also. If you have to change, why not just scs.com? Besides, I'm on TMS quite often and haven't read anything over there about them being hassled. Whatever you have to do to stay out of hot water ...

i voted NO, just becuase its stangs not mustangs, i dont think that FORD coined the phrase "stangs".... and i run into guys everyday that have never heard of the site before, and this is just gonna confuse people more.. And on a side note, what if ford of someone else tryed to sue people for their screen names?? IMO thats just about the same thing, if we are gonna lay down and let the site name change, then we better all change are screen names to, or at least the ones that relate to car names...

Its not only the tool bags I wouldn't want. There is no sense of community on Pittspeed. Its just a website. SCS works more like a community where people actually know eachother in person and help eachother out, etc.

I agree with the stang vs. mustang point though, although I also agree that it may not be worth fighting for. Although Lou I think if you had set up to get more shirts hats and stuff it would become more profitable, but also more time consuming. Just a though, and you know if you needed help with putting that stuff together I said I would.

    Only if last resort!

I voted NO! I mean if u had to come down to it because of legal purposes than thats an exception. But keep it a Brotherly Sister Hood Mustang community! Maybe host another site if u could under the other new name, for ALL the Muscle Car heads. It seems this site does very well maybe expand your horizens with another site. Have some friends help update/upkeep both! Market your self, ask for sponsers or donations from car lovers. Good luck thou. PEACE 1bOoBz

    I VOTE NOT TO CHANGE!!

If Ford had half a brain, they'd fire all their in-house f'n lawyers that are making $300k+ a year rather than crack down on people who are responsible for the success of their company - namely US, who buy Fords again and again.

With those 100s of lawyers off of the payroll they'd be a lot better off, and so would our hobby.

But Lou - if there's any chance of you catching heat for the site name, of course I'd understand a name change.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

I voted not to change the name, as long as Lou is not receiving any heat. If that happens, yep, you gotta keep the trouble away. Fighting it would not be worth it, IMO.

I voted no. I do not believe that the word "stangs" is patented. Lou, if you have to worry, then these guys have to worry first : http://www.mustangheaven.com/

Note the disclaimer on the bottom of each page in the footer. I would at least put that on here.

I think ford should take it easy on the sites that are full of people who are enthusiasts about their products, seeing as they're fighting to keep their head above water, they might need some of us to stick around and buy a vehicle from them.

I say keep scs, but if they are really serious with legal action, I could deal with scmc, it just won't be the same.
