Potentially scammed

I recently agreed to purchase a 71' 351W block on the corral. The terms were agreed on at $300 shipped to chicago where my engine will be built. I sent a check for $300. Two weeks go by and i have no word on where my block is. I send a PM and find out that its takin glonger for my check to clear since it is out of state. OK understandable. Get a PM that the check cleared. OK. Get another PM stating the the shipping that the seller was origionally quoted was incorrect. He origionally quoted the shipping at $100 but it turns out the company wants $240 to ship it. The seller then says he can send me my money back. I respong saying that ill split the additional cost with him. He agees and i immediately paypal him an additional $70. Seller says he will ship it out ASAP. Another week goes by and i send another PM asking where my block is. Seller says hell get me a tracking number tomorrow. That was a week ago and now the seller will not respond to PMs or emails.

Now im usually patient with people and sometimes a little too patient but ive got $370 tied up for over a month now and i have no block. Like WTF is wrong with people. I have his address and im contemplating my next move.

call his local police/sheriff's office and tell them whats going on and see if they can go out and check him out or if they may have any other issues with him locally.

a friend of mine got ripped online and he did this and the guy refunded his money when the police showed up on his door step.

I'm down for a roadtrip, I've been burned on corral once, and it was just an inaccurate part description. I'd gladly drive to go beat some scammin asshole down and watch the fairy piss his pants when he realizes you cann't play games with peoples' money and trust.

Edit: just read that it is getting resolved, good to hear. Guess I won't be needing bailed out of jail anytime soon after all, lol.

I did once for an eBay seller who at best was a VERY POOR seller, and at worst was trying to scam me. The issue was resolved VERY quickly after contacting the FBI's resources at the above link. The guy blew me off for 6 weeks- after receiving a letter from the FBI, he resolved the issue in 2 days. :D

x2 i got quoted by 2 diff carriers for an entire motor AND tranny (ls1 w/ auto) for 300 bucks from california to pittsburgh

i was ripped off from a guy in new york by using a money order (which i will never use again) and contacted his police department, and all they did was just give me the run around, telling me i needed this, this this and this, then they still didnt know if anything could be done, i hope you get your money back or your block but the police didnt help me, hopefully they help you :/

The sooner you report it to the FBI the better chance you have. You run no risk on your end. Seriously, just turn in the case and let it run it's course.

Ok everything is getting resolved. The kids father is shipping out the block on Wednesday. Im just glad it worked out. Sounds like the father is a real stand up guy. He got it resolved in less than a week. Maybe his son should learn a lesson.
