Here is my personal view on this debate, take it or leave it. If you'll notice, the slower people are... the more "rules" a car must follow to be a "street car". That isn't directed to anyone who posted because i only read a few posts. To me a street car is anything you can drive on the street without issue. It doesn't matter if you have a cage, tubbed, blown, stroked, turbo'd or whatever. I could care less if it's emission legal or not because a lot of states still don't even test emissions. I do however expect a person who calls their car a street car to be inspected, registered, and insured... mainly because if you have those 3 things it proves your paying because you drive your car on the street enough to need validation. however if your that guy who is illegal and drives without any of it, but is still out there on a decent basis, i could still credit you with that. you can run whatever gas your pockets can afford... obviously you better have some big pockets to run race fuel on a daily basis. You can also run whatever tire you want, I don't really care because i try not to drive my car in the rain unless it just happens while i'm out. My car is a street car. i drive it on the street, 70 miles to the track, and well sometimes i drive it back lol.. it depends on the kind of whoopin i put on it. so in summary.. street car = a car drivin on the street where ever you want to go, fairly daily during the summer.

thanks brian . it seem like the people with slower cars have stricter rules my car is 14.1 compression its mini tubed and i can set in traffic and idle all day and never go over 190 degrees i trailer my car to the flash light drags because i choose to 1 it has almost an 800 lift cam and valve springs arent cheap could i drive it to zeli yes if i drove it to every flash light drag i would probably spend 2500 a year in springs this sport is super exspencive and i choose to spend my money on making the car faster not spending it wearing parts out cause someone said if i dont drive it to the flash light drags its not a street car yes it on the verge of being a race car to some people but to others it sick fast and does awsome wheel stand at the track and its mine

I thought FLD rules were no trailered cars...

there were stories of guys parking their race cars behind building's the night before the races, walking distance from the runway.:readrules:

to me, not a street car. If your saying you can't drive it as many times as you want because it'll wear out valve springs.... in my book... not a street car because of your obvious need for limited street use. but for 2500 bucks a year. i would change my mind

the rules are car must be driven IN not not trailered IN this is a no win situation so no matter what anyone says someone else will have something negative to say about it i guess everyones intitled to an opinion

The only reason that's been brought up, and I've seen it first-hand, is because people will bring their 9-second cars on trailers, park a mile away, slap on the license plate from their trailer or tow rig and drive it in. With cars as fast as those, it doesn't make it as fun to race there when you have big horsepower cars like that dominating a lower horsepower event.
