YAY free day off

If anyone watches the news today and seees the story about the chemical spill. Yes it smelled real bad and I got to go home for the day.

I actually drove past it this morning....but was on Ross and not Grant. All I saw was the Medical Examiners Office surrounded by cops/medics/firefighters and recognized a couple city homicide detectives standing around. I never saw the crowd outside the main county buildings.

I was thinking someone probably committed suicide right outside the ME's building. I just spent my last semester interning in that office and more than once we had problems with distraught family members showing up.

....I wonder how the crime lab's basement ended up affecting the rest of the county buildings. Connected by vent shafts etc?

i was actually standing outside the ME building myself. The only building evacuated was the building witht he lab in the basement. Im pretty sure the sub basement where the spill occured is connected to the rest of the building through ventilization.

The smell was VERY strong in the lab.

Did the ME people get sent home too?

The MEO is not really a department that can just stop operating and go home....I bet this was some unwanted chaos for their day.

No the morgue people in the building across the street werent affected. It prob did cause some chaos for the lab since alot of police departments bring evidence on mondays.
