    Upper torque boxes

Is there something "in the middle" for upper torque box reinforcment / repair? What I mean, is something more than these.....

    But not this extreme......

My upper on the drivers side has pulled away from the floor pan. I believe it can be pushed back into place, welded, then reinforced with the "battle box" type plates from Lou, but would be interested if there is something better. The passenger side is still fine, and the lowers are okay too, but those suckers are all getting something added to them, and I'm a little concerned with the drivers side right now.

    Bob,

There are pictures of the ones from Laurel Mountain in this thread after Tim @ Rodeheaver's welded them up in my car.

you would be surprised at how much good welding all the seams under your car helps. add the boxes and weld the seams and you should be good to go. make sue to pull the carpet out before welding since there was a car that just went up in flames from NOT doing this. lost his car and part of his garage.

I would get the battle boxes welded in and you should be good. I installed mine while doing the solid swap. Here are some pics.

Painted everything with POR15 to prevent rust.

man thats a nice job, it really helps to have a newer car to do it to, when to do a car with factory undercoating it melts and runs into your weld and all over the place,,,and when you do a older car it is very tough to get the rust out from between the 2 panels...

Yes,,,,a nice new clean undercarriage helps tremendously. Hardest part was all the sparks,,,couple times I thought I was on Fire. Plus I don't have a lift so I was laying on my back.
