Have you guys ever been to Carlisle for a weekend?
Food there is expensive. Then you have dinner at the hotels every night, if you eat dinner that is.
I only suggested cooking out to help with that expense. If everyone brings something, then the weekend will be covered. So you dont have money.. we're not gonna ask you to bring steak. Bring a bag of chips or a couple packs of buns, or buy a couple bags of ice.
As for the shirts.. it doesnt mean you have to buy one. It doesnt mean you have to be in charge of it if you dont have the extra time. It would be nice if we all could represent the site, but no one is gonna be upset if you dont purchase a $10-12 shirt, which would be a profit to help keep the site running.
For those who have spent the whole weekend there, how much have you spent on food just at the event for 3 days? The past 2 years Ive gone, our group has always had a cookout.
And asking for $10 toward the banner isnt much. If you cant afford it, PM me and I'll figure something out.
Don't get burnt out already. It's just planning ahead... so we can have fun that weekend
(Sorry if there has been too much confusion) :(

I agree 100% on the food! A few of us can hit Sams or AlDI and grab some Burgers, Hot Dogs and chips and we would be good for the weekend.
.... but I'll pass on the T's!
I've been there the past 3 years and I know its expensive. Trust me haha
Yep it is definitely not cheap. I think the cookout is a real good idea. I plan on bring something, just don't know what yet.

If some of you little girls are done crying, i wanted to put this out there that it will be me and my employee going and we would be up for a shared room if anyone wants to do that..

This will be my fifth trip out and I agree, it's defenately way expensive to eat at the show. We've never had a group or a tent to hang out with/at, so this will be a nice change. I do believe we need an actual list of what to bring or one of what has already been offered. I had offered hot dogs and buns but then saw someone else offered it before me. So I can bring something else without a problem, we just need to know what everyone else is bringing. I don't know how much cash I'll be able to bring with me either since I had to cash in my 401k to heat my house and make sure I had money for Christmas this winter, now Uncle Sam is wanting his share. So this defenately helps.
Hey, Jay what are you doing home? Nick booked our room so we are covered.
I swear if someone posts a point to point schedule to the drive out, I am going to crack some heads together. Besides everyone should know that if we have 28+ Fords in a group there is no way in hell we can plan anything out.

That's nice
On a side note, Thanks to everyone else for agreeing with the food, tent, etc. From my experience, it's way easier.
There is already a list started, so we can add on to that and go from there for those who want to participate.
No worries if you cant.. we're not gonna make ya sit outside the tent.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the suggestions and help. I know some of you are getting overwhelmed or bored with all this talk and planning.
I'm always around, so you can PM me with any questions or comments.
I'll still be working on getting everything in order :) I enjoy it, gives me something to do.

I donated to Lou to help pay for the costs of the site. If he needs more $ he should say it and everyone (myself included) will surely chip in again. I'm not down for buying fundraiser tshirts though. If I want to donate money I'll do it, if I want to buy a shirt I'll do it, but please don't make the assumption that everyone will want those two things lumped together...
I've never been to Carlisle for a weekend, so I can't say I know what it's like to be stuck there paying for way overpriced food - however I can say that I've been to places that are wayyyyyyy worse and managed to survive. It's not like we will be stranded from civilization or without a mode of transportation if we need it.
I'm not doing a good job of getting my point across though and I know it. All I'm saying is that it will be much easier and more reliable if we are to try to be accountable for ourselves or a small group of friends rather than for everyone that is going out there. That's all I'm trying to say. This isn't a fraternity, we don't have a pool of money to buy stuff from, and no matter what people will be upset and bitch about something.
I don't have a problem donating $10 to get a banner, but I'm not going to do it till we have 25 people confirmed.
I just don't want to put the wagon infront of the horse (or whatever that phrase is).
Classy?
Thanks Rob. At least we have a plan B. One of our members already offered to pay for the tent, regardless if we get 25 members or not. So either way, we will have the tent.
Since I know we will have the tent, that is why I tried planning food. Doesnt hurt to have a list and let it sit there for 4 months then refresh it so everyone has a reminder. Also doesnt hurt to wait for 4 months and then make a list of who wants to bring what.
Mostly, we just all need to know what's going on. Communication is key.
That being said.. everyone knows what's going on and how to get in touch with me. I dont want to upset anyone by keeping this going. I am only trying to ensure we all have a good weekend.
Those who go and those who participate will have fun. I know Im gonna =)
(And Bo, didn't mean to get you upset with the donation thing.)
