Battery Kill Switch Recommendations

Need some recommendations from you guys. I got a battery relocation kit a couple months ago, and still haven't put it in the car because I'm trying to decide how to run the kill switch and what one to get.

So, I would like to see what switches you all are running, how you mounted them, how you hook them up, etc... I want to avoid cutting into the car at all costs. I was thinking of going through the key hole on the trunk lid possibly, would this affect the latching of my trunk at all? I also don't really want a push/pull lever style switch. I have been looking at the one from flaming river called the "Little Switch" but I don't see a NHRA/IHRA certification in the description. Mainly, I like the removable key part of the design.

Through the keyhole is common. Terry at StreetLethal makes a nice piece.

Your latch works fine you just have no place to use the key to open the trunk, Have to use keyfob or button in glove box, (like you already do anyway).

U Can Also Run A Push Pull System From Flaming River And Put The T-handle Next 2 Plate I Seen Lot Ppl Do This Also

The keyhole design only works on the 99 and up cars.

Why is that? Because of the shape of the panel?

How'd you run yours? Or is your battery still under the hood? Can't remember how you have it.

I really don't want to drill into my car at all, I don't want to go through the taillight either, as I have seen some people do. I'd sooner not be track legal, as I only go to the track once a year, if that. I'm just looking for a clean method to do this without permanently modifying the car.

our cars have the little hump/bubble on the one side and it wont fit so you can turn the knob. 99+ cars their panels are flat

if you really want it there you will have to modify it cutting/ drilling and so on...

i was thinking of trying to put it by the gas tank right underneath the bumper. youll have to drill a hole but nobody will see it

I know the bump you're talking about.

I also had the idea of mounting it through the very bottom of the bumper cover (I think that's what you're describing) and having a decal that says "cutoff" with an arrow similar to a tow hook decal, I'd just have a few decals and put one on whenever I was going to go to the track.

I Had Mine Under The Bumper Cover Like You Are Saying About Til I Put The Saleen Bumper On Then It Covered It Up.

I've seen a lot done like that. Build a small plate for the switch. While you are there add a set of charging posts. Not that you are going to run without an alternator, but id you ever need to jump or charge, then you dont need to undo all the battery box stuff

Maybe I missed something so dont take this as me being a smart @$$. Whats the point of having the switch if its not track legal? I always thought they had a standard area they wanted them mounted in so the crew could find it quickly in the event of a wreck.

Nah I meant that rather than cutting into my car, I would just not have a kill switch at all, since I rarely go to the track anyway. If I can't figure out a non-permanent way to mount it, that is.

I've run two different vehicles on TnT nights with rear mounted batteries and no shutoffs...never had a problem with tech.

my buddy has a 96 cobra and has his in the flat spot were in between the 2 licence plate bulbs on the trunk lid so its not even really noticable and can be removed and u never would even see the hole until u opened the trunk and look at with the trunk open

For my father in law's 88 GT I bought a mid 80's camaro hinged liscense plate holder. With a little modification it worked pefectly. I mounted the switch behind the plate and at the track I just flip the plate up and the switch is exposed and when I'm done just flip it back down.
