    Injectors

    SHOULD I RUN 42 LB OR 60 LB INJECTORS??? THIS IS THE DEAL, GONA PUT 331 IN CAR WITH S/C, BUT NOT PUT S/C ON RITE AWAY AND DONT WANA BUY 2 SETS OF INJECTORS. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS ? CAN I GO 42LB AND B OK WITH S/C OR GO 60LB AND B OK RUNNIN WITH NO S/C AT FIRST...

    60's won't run off a stock ecu

    doubt 60's wil run n/a very well.Sure you could tune the car so they would.42's might or might not be enough with a blower

    Who says 60's wont run off a stock ECU. I have 60's and im still running a stock ECU.

    Both of you are sort of correct. You can't simply plug 60's into an EEC-IV table (56 is as big as most EEC-IV's will take). There is a simple way to do it by halving tables, then entering half the injector size. There are other ways around it too. Of course I'm only considering real tune changes, not sure what you can do with a MAF / Injector hack (not my idea of a "tune").

    For the turbo 4 EEC's we are now able to enter up to 99#'s directly with the right deffinition file, I'm sure someone has done the same hack for at least the A9L by now. We have several turbo 4 running around on 95# injectors and they ide just fine. The big issue is tuning off boost / off idle transitions with big injectors.

    I maxed out my 42s. We popped the 60s in there with no changes to the MAF. Dave at SGS tuned the car with an SCT chip and it ran fine. Maybe the SCT chip isnt considered a "stock" ECU since it is a custom tune. My bad if i misunderstood.

    That's they key. They are entering "real" injector values and a "real" MAF curve versus that maf / injector matched crap. Obviuosly then they have the a hack to enter larger injector values as well. Anytime a "tuner" is telling you to get a MAF calibrated to injectors run away. A real tune is going to enter an accurate MAF transfer and the real injector size and let the ECU know what it's dealing with, not what they could make fit at some points.

    yea I simply meant you can't do it w/o a chip or tuner device.I ran 60's in my blower setup on an A9L with a pms.SCT meters are calibrated for injector size but you can tune a meter to any injector size with a chip tune

    where do you buy A9L dumb question but all this fuel injector shit is confusing... so what do i need 2 buy for this car to run?
    1. 60lb injectors
    2. 60lb mass sensor
    3. ?
    4. ?
    5.?
    and so on
    motor will b 331, 185 afr's, 8-10 psi vortech if any1 needs that info...

    just really confused on what 2 do here any suggestions...i just mite b making it harder than really is...

    you need 60's

    I'd buy a 95mm Pro M velocity meter calibrated for 60's

    with the meter thoguh you need to know what kind of tune you want to put on the car whether you are going to chip tune it or buy a tuning device becasue Pro M will want to know to do the meter

    Might be easier for you to get the car together and take it to get tuned.If this is a fresh motor you are not gonna wanna fire this up with the 60's in it and no tuning device on this car.Put 19's and a stock meter or something on it to break it in.

    Yes and no. PMAS was the guys from PRO-M. Then wjen the quality went to shit pro-m re formed and now thats what you have. Basically the same thing still. Quality is now bettter though.
