I agree with ya. If you have money to burn everything is on sale.

With that that said I would take an 03 viper over a shelby if they were the same price (which seems to be where the market is heading. Incredible value to pick up a shelby in mid thirties. Shame the economy is ruining the dreams of so many

And I've driven in a late '90s Viper RT10 and was not impressed in any way---rode like sh1t, sounded like sh1t, and engine had a truck done at 5000rpm feel.
Thats funny because the guy I bought my cobra from said the same thing. He said he always wanted one and it was the biggest let down he ever had. He also told me to never sell or trade my car for one because it would be a step down.
    Stock 03 Cobra Vroom Vroom!!

Proudly supports Street Lethal Performance and Rodeheaver's Hotrod Shop

Did he also mention they get HOT AS HELL!

I love the look of the Viper and HUGE engine but sorry Bo I would take a GT500 or a low mile nicely mod'ed Terminator over an early Viper. Now don't get me wrong if I could afford both I would have a Viper! But I would take the Mustangs over the Viper for three reasons,
    1) Much more practical
    2) Reliable and hold up to abuse well
    3) It's not a Mopar

oh I didn't say anything about an early (gen I) viper! I wouldn't even buy one with a stolen identity

I'm talking the SRT10 vipers (gen 3). You can start to find nice examples popping up with prices starting with a 3. I just think that a red viper is sexy as hell. Not an age group that it can't turn the heads of. The sound is hit or miss, and the deep exhaust can be accentuated by poor exhaust selections - same as you can make a mustang sound like a raspy tin can if you do it all wrong.

Also if you take out the cats the cabin heat problem is solved

saw a flawless 05 on ebay for 37k with something like 15k miles. Not a scratch to be found anywhere on the car (including under the front bumper). Assuming a clean carfax & it wasn't scratchless cause it was just put on lol

04 with 25k on the clock asking 39k

since you like black... here is an 04 with 23k miles for 39k

Shows you what I know .... I didn't realize 03's were new body style!

WOW .... I can't believe how cheap you can pick one of these up for and it's not like they are high mile cars! They only have 23k and 25k on them!

    Can I change my opinion?

I think that is high mileage for a Viper :)
I also wasn't impressed by the '03 I raced in my '04 Cobra but it could have been the driver.

I can vouch for this.... I drove a Viper, and yes it sounded like sheit, road like sheit, and I seriously thought they made a six cylinder version. It was a gutless wonder compared to my 2004 cobra....... Looked good standing still.
