    5.0 Vs 4.6

Hi huys got a question about a couple of cars I am looking at a 5 sp. 89 "as you guys no" But I saw a 1996 Gt for the same price with a auto What would be the better car to go with If both are equal.
    Thanks Hunter

there a bunch of guys on here that know alot more than i do, but i do know that the 96-98 4.6's arent very "hot". someone correct me if i'm wrong, but the heads on those years aren't very good and it's tough to make good numbers without spending some $$$. i personally think it would come down to condition, price, and personal preference.

yes, the 96-98 4.6 cars lacked in the HP area.. you can make em fast as a 99+ model but thats extra money you have to spend to be as about the same level as a 99+ car, and one thing thats undeniable about the foxes is that they are fairly cheap and alot more easier to mod.. You really need to think about what you want to do with the car, IE; drag, auto cross, or just cruise with mild mods... I think this will be the biggest factor in the purchase.

If thats the case then go with the 96-98. Should be a better ride and the auto will make it a cruiser for sure. Those cars were dogs even with a manual but if you want a cruiser dont see anything wrong with it..

I'd choose the fox....and who wants an auto mustang anyway? Those are for girls and old suits! 96-98 was the worst looking body they had. That's just my opinion.

You will never drive like this with an auto.

5 sp fox.If it's not going to be a dd why not do some shifting and have a little fun.If you want to cruise an auto find a old roadmaster or a caprice put some dubs on it,get a big speaker box for the back seat and cruz it.

I comeletely agree, the 94-98 body styles just don't do it for me.

    Fox/n.
    1. wild animal : a carnivorous animal of the dog family that has a sturdy square body, large cubic inches, a wide RPM range , and comes in many colors. Foxes are found throughout most of the world and hunt alone, mainly at night, relying on cunning and an acute sense of power and acceleration. They feed on mostly small rodents like rats(BBC) , mice (SBC) and snakes(Cobras).

if you are looking at SN-95's, get a new edge(99-04). but if you are only looking at 94-98's and fox's i would say go with the foxbody! i dont like how everything on the 94-98s are so round...

foxbodys are nice, but the 96 will be a better ride in my opinion. if you wanna go fast get the fox. ive had both fox and 96 gt. personal i liked the foxes but overall ride and looks i liked the 96gt.

96 with decent exaust, wheels, maybe lite gears for alittle bump.

96-98 are non pi engines which is why they lack the power.

    rick-- trans am's rock!!!!
