How do I verify a R302 or A4 block?

I have been offered a 1995 Mustang. The seller’s wife tells me:

I'll check with him on all that info but I know that the body is in pretty good shape (or last I looked at it was) In my opinion would need a paint job. The interior is Tan and DIRTY!!! Windshield is cracked. The rest I'll let him answer. Other than I think he is listing it (whenever he gets around to listing it) for $1000. I'll take pics this weekend and email them to you along with the rest of the info.

So, if it is really a SVO block, it will be an A4 or R302 casting. How do I verify it is really a R302 or A4 block. I am thinking he just pulled a Cobra engine and stuck in his car. If it is really a R302 block, should I offer the full amount? If it is not a R302, how much do you think it is worth? I don't need another car, but a good deal is hard for me to resist.

says svo on it and you can't put a stock pan on one of those either

Check The Casting Numbers. If Memory Serves Me It Will End In Either R-302 Or A4. It Could Be A Sportsman Block Also. Im Not Sure What The Casting Numbers Are On The Sportsman Blocks Though

B50 casting on the sportsman blocks I believe
If its got an SVO 4-bolt the block is obviously worth more than the asking price.
