Steelers vs Ravens for the AFC championship

That "can't beat a team 3 times in a year" is crap. I did want the Titans to win so the Steelers could go down there and stomp the crap out of them. But, it's nice to have another home game here. The Ravens are hurting, it will be more Pittsburgh weather... as long as Ben plays like he did yesterday, I don't see the Ravens having enough. GO STEELERS!!!

I think Baltimore can handle this weather as well. This is going to be a grinder for sure, I hope we can pull it off.

Ben looked good but if parker can run the ball the way he did yesterday we should be fine. We need to get in the grille of Flacco and make him look like rivers running around like an idiot making stupid decisions and bad throws. That Rookie's gonna choke, they always do.

All Ben did was play up to his ability. We all saw yesterday what happens with the O-line actually blocks someone for once..... If they can keep Ben from getting crushed, he will do just as good again - however, if they let the defense have free shots at him like they have all season, then he won't play any better than he has all season....

I think the Steelers will be ok this upcoming week. Won't be an easy game, but I think we're going to Tampa

It is definitely going to be a violent game. I can't wait! Its all on the o-line, if they protect Ben and make holes for Parker therre sould be no problem.

    sounds simple enough! very accurate...

havent seen that kinda speed on the edge from Parker in quite some time, nice to see him get his legs back too...

i just wish they would get Ben some better & tall receivers...they tried with Limas Sweed, but this kid looks like a deer in headlights right out of the gates...and i like to hold judgement for at least 3 years...lol...hopefully he comes around...

    either way, f' baltimore...

everyone needs to get off of the big ben bandwagon just cause he won the superbowl... leftwich is a better decision maker period.

its not a bandwagon, its proof in results...

byron leftwich lost his job to david garrard in jacksonville, byron leftwich lost his job to joey harrington in atlanta...i cant even grasp the fact that people think he is a better option than roethlisberger...

byron leftwich would be the 3rd qb in pittsburgh if charlie batch was healthy...and on top of that, if charlie batch was healty...byron leftwich would be out of football...thats why the steelers have dennis dixon as a 3rd option...so leftwich is lucky to have a job...period

Alright here is your "proof in results" laz2447...

how about the Redskins game back in November???

Ben played the entire first half.
Leftwich played the entire second half.

Both had same O-line, same recievers and same running backs to work with and same defense to go against..

    Big Ben: 5/17, 50 yards, 0 TD, 1 Interception
    Leftwhich: 7/10, 129 yards, 1 TD, 0 Interceptions

100% Equal play, but much better results by Leftwich

After reading this thread, history certainly has a way of repeating itself. Back in the heyday 70's, many of the things that are currently being said about about Big Ben, Terry Bradshaw was being tagged with. Pittsburgh fans will not change. Bradshaw, like Ben, had games where he made bad decisions, threw int's, basically sucked, but had a way of making the big play when it was needed most. The Steelers' backup QB is ALWAYS better than the starter. Look at the future HOF QB's that played behind Bradshaw; Terry Hanraty, Joe Gilliam, Mike Kruczek. I remember Steelers fans calling for Bradshaws head and wanting one of these guys to play. WTF?

Bradshaw ended up being a winner. One of the best big game QB's to ever play the game, 4 time Super Bowl winner, Super Bowl MVP, and a Pittsburgh sports icon. Never had garish stats, didn't need to. Played on teams with great defenses. Did just enough to win. See the parallel's?

This will be the third AFC Championship game the Steelers will have played in in the 5 years with Ben as the starting QB. One Super Bowl win under his belt, with a possible trip to a second Super Bowl days away. Pretty damn good in my book. I'm not saying that the play of Big Ben is the sole reason for this run, the Steelers are a very good team, but without him, the Steelers are at home watching this game.

    Well said.

And X2 jcelli... Harrison got mugged in plain view, the only thing missing was a weapon, and the refs still didn't call it. He has some years to go of producing as he has the past 2 seasons to be mentioned as an all time great, but there is no doubt of how hard he works. What a great story... undrafted, cut 4-5 times, still plays special teams.

Join me in prayer, Steeler fans... :):):)

    Our Father,
    Who Art in Pittsburgh,
    Football Be Thy Game.
    Thy Kingdom Come,
    5 Super Bowls Won,
On Earth as it is in Heinz Field.
Give us this Day a playoff Victory,
    And forgive us our penalties,
As we defeat those who play against us.
But lead us into a victory,
    And deliver us to Tampa!

steelers have a good oline but with the caliber of players that are in the nfl today they cant hold a defense off forever while a worthless qb sits in the pocket pump fakes 5-6 times and takes 15seconds to do a check down of his recievers ben is the most over rated over paid qb in the nfl right now. his fundamentals of the game are terrible. he has a name because of one year of coming in and they win a superbowl. the steelers gm and ceo like that he fills seats in the stadium leftwich is by far a better qb but he doesnt bring the fan base that a young white steeler qb does pittsburg and thats why ben is the start qb for them. sorry for the rant but i had to get that out there.

I also think Bruce needs to keep using a fullback like he did against the chargers for once...thats why we ran as good as we did

Put any other QB in for the steelers and watch them get demolished. Ben is elusive and hard to take down, Linebackers have made the comment that he is the hardest to get down in the league. I'm no Ben fan by any means, but stating that leftwich is a better QB is :loco:

if thats the case that any qb would be demolished then why did leftwich have no problems throwing the ball when he was in the game a few weeks back. ben isnt elusive by any means his line slows the defenders down enough in the time that they get to him he can make small movements to get away. take a look at this this ball should of already been in the air or since he is to be said so elusive he should stepped up in the pocket and this sack would have never taken place. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcwXBMDk9p0

Ummmm, I've seen every QB have that happen to them. Why dont we find all of the positive yardage plays he made from nothing on you tube.

It's easy to have more bad plays or games when you play the majority of the time. You think our record would be better had Leftwich started every game? Leftwich is and always will be a back up.
