    Why? I'm a bit confused.

Steelers make it to the championship game and people have to say Ben's great?

OK except Ben is good at best. He's nothing fantastic regardless of where the Steelers are in the standings.

Yes, I am a pens fan.

Believe it or not, I am a Steeler fan too.

I'm just not on my knees over this "magnificent" QB. I'm realistic.

For most of the year his line stunk, he got alot of pressure and was sacked a bunch, yet he somehow manages to get the job done. There is not another QB in the NFL that can get out of trouble and still make big plays as often as he does. It's funny, they are in the AFC championship game and yet some people still scream for the 2nd string QB, which by the way is usually the most favorite player not on the feild

hahaha ..they wouldnt be sitting at home...i repeat...I AM NOT A STEELERS FAN!!! i actually hate them....they are like a$$holes...everyone around here is a steelers fan...but u gotta give credit to a TEAM when they deserve it....however...ben is not a VERY good QB as you said....he's lucky he's in pitt...he wouldnt be a starter anywhere else....not even in OAKLAND!!

im amazed that this thread went 6 pages and all you people did was rant about big ben. ive been following football for as long as ive been old enough to watch tv and james harrison is not only the most physically dominant linebacker ive ever seen wear a steelers jersey (bold statement), but maybe the best linebacker ive ever seen play. I was too young to see LT so dont start there. He has been held in every game of the season and never gets calls. refs feel sorry for OTs and TEs that have to try to block him. hes absolutely relentless and shows no mercy or regard for his own body. hes the hardest working player on the team but everyone in pittsburgh shines the light on ben and the offense. JAMES HARRISON and TROY POLAMALU are the reason we are even in the playoffs.

I think the Steelers will be ok this upcoming week. Won't be an easy game, but I think we're going to Tampa

After reading this thread, history certainly has a way of repeating itself. Back in the heyday 70's, many of the things that are currently being said about about Big Ben, Terry Bradshaw was being tagged with. Pittsburgh fans will not change. Bradshaw, like Ben, had games where he made bad decisions, threw int's, basically sucked, but had a way of making the big play when it was needed most. The Steelers' backup QB is ALWAYS better than the starter. Look at the future HOF QB's that played behind Bradshaw; Terry Hanraty, Joe Gilliam, Mike Kruczek. I remember Steelers fans calling for Bradshaws head and wanting one of these guys to play. WTF?

Bradshaw ended up being a winner. One of the best big game QB's to ever play the game, 4 time Super Bowl winner, Super Bowl MVP, and a Pittsburgh sports icon. Never had garish stats, didn't need to. Played on teams with great defenses. Did just enough to win. See the parallel's?

This will be the third AFC Championship game the Steelers will have played in in the 5 years with Ben as the starting QB. One Super Bowl win under his belt, with a possible trip to a second Super Bowl days away. Pretty damn good in my book. I'm not saying that the play of Big Ben is the sole reason for this run, the Steelers are a very good team, but without him, the Steelers are at home watching this game.

    Well said.

And X2 jcelli... Harrison got mugged in plain view, the only thing missing was a weapon, and the refs still didn't call it. He has some years to go of producing as he has the past 2 seasons to be mentioned as an all time great, but there is no doubt of how hard he works. What a great story... undrafted, cut 4-5 times, still plays special teams.

Join me in prayer, Steeler fans... :):):)

    Our Father,

    Football Be Thy Game.
    Thy Kingdom Come,
    5 Super Bowls Won,
On Earth as it is in Heinz Field.
Give us this Day a playoff Victory,
    And forgive us our penalties,
As we defeat those who play against us.
But lead us into a victory,
    And deliver us to Tampa!
