glad they got the w even with some of the bad breaks they had.
im really liking the way theyre playing now. a lot more aggressive and it seems like theyre finally playing almost with despiration.
im still stickin to my guns, i think gettin rid of staal would be a big mistake down the road. i know its "what have you done for me lately" but they should def keep him for the long haul.
not enough ice time to share with crosby and malkin, and he is going to be better than a 3rd line center...at least thats what his paycheck says lol...he was coming off his lowest ice time of the season around 16 mins coming into todays game in philly...
i like staal, but if you trade him now and get a wing for crosby...you are adding to what you need, keeping staal and having 3 top line centers isnt going to help this team as its structured right now...
they have plenty of guys who can play that 3rd line center spot on the roster right now...or you can find a 3rd/4th line center in the off season...no one with the talent of a staal, but really do we need to have all that potential and skill on our 3rd line? i love our third line right now with cooke, staal, and kennedy...but if you can land a top wing for staal i would do it...
just like with the depth on defense, whitney is expendable...although this mysterious healthy scratching of letang is a bit odd imho...whitney has been out there for as many goals against as letang...yet whitney is given the benefit of the doubt...but again when you have depth at a certain position someone gets scratched...again i look at letang as being younger with tremendous skills and will save you some cash in the short term as opposed to whitney right now...
i like staal alot, and i feel whitney is going to be a great offensive d-man come next year once he comes back fully from his injury...just not with the pens...
