it was an AWESOME game last night! Great hockey and even better fights! The series of fights towards the end was right in front of me. Me and my friend made a sign that said "our team can kick your teams A$$" lol

Did anyone hear the kid talking to to madden on the x before the game talking about a kid at greensburg salem in a hossa jersey?

I think the injury bug early in the season is what people were seeing as a "talent problem" and this team not being "as good" as last year. Now they the lines have been playing consistantly together, this team is clicking like you said...plus look at all the WBS talent we had here for months!

Everyone thinks you just put guys out there and they pick up right where they left off with new linemates. This team, this year is a clear example of what playing together for stretches at a time can do for you...also what playing with people who actually have talent can do for you too lol...

I hope the power play we saw last night will continue to play this way. With it converting at the rate it was last night this team is very hard to beat and can most certainly make a run at the cup again. As long as NJ doesn't throw up a road block named Brodeur...stay away from JERSEY!

I knew you'd do it! You made the right choice.

Anyways, yes the game on Tuesday did look strong. Everyone seems very confident. Like every media outlet has been saying, I think each player has fallen into a defined role and they are working well within those roles.

I think this team looks as strong and potent as they ever have. They look to be more in synch then they have last year or the year before. It's amazing how well the team took to the addition of Kunitz and Guerin and what those players have added. Not to mention they have the previous years experience already under them. That, combined with the talent they have and the way they been playing, watch out Lord Stanley!

ESPN has them picked 5th out of the top 5 strongest teams in the east. They called the team the "dark horse" of the 5 teams. They also said that if they do make playoffs, they predict that the Pens will go very deep.

Not bad considering about a month and a half ago most of the public wrote them off.

On a side note, WTF? I mean, NJ has these great few games and Brodeur captures the all time winning goaltender record in NHL history (which I'm sick of hearing about). Everyone talks about how great NJ is and how they are so strong this year. So what do we need them to do: BEAT Carolina! Do they? No. Dicks!

    Ok, end rant. GO PENS!

They had Weeks in goal...enough said lol...I agree with you about the Brodeur thing. Not cause I dislike him or the Devils really, but I hate ESPN for deciding to put it all over the place like they even carry hockey on a regular basis. They are posers...

The only time hockey is even discussed on ESPN is if something like this happens, a record being broken. Or if Ovechkin stubs his toe, or sneezes, or wakes up on the wrong side of the bed...they plaster him all over SportsCenter because he is flashy and scores goals. Makes me vomit. How about covering some real complete hockey players and not catering to the NFL, NBA fan base by showing this guy as the face of the NHL...oh wait...its because the NFL, NBA fans dont have the brain stamina to understand what hockey is or how great the game really is.

Wow. This is almost identical to my opinion and what I always say about ESPN.

I love their top then plays of the week.

Goes something like this: Dunk, Dunk, long putt, a hockey fight, hole in one, Dunk, Dunk, Three point basket, Dunk and the top play of the week: yes, you guessed it: Dunk.

Its a shame. People never really get to see the talent there is in the game or how great the game is. I have to get my daily dose of hockey from the NHL network or NHL on the fly.

I usually just watch the nhl channel, I don't get mad about anything. Just like watching any kind of hockey.

I know the way espn is though. It's the same with any small city. They never get any credit for anything until their name has to be mentioned. Like the steelers, and pens.

I just want the pens to STAY HEALTHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'll drink to that.

Also, a quote from ESPN.com incase some of you didn't see it:

"In the East, the second-hottest team behind New Jersey has been the Pittsburgh Penguins"

    and

"Still, it begs the question: does anyone really want to play Pittsburgh in the first round? After all, these guys did reach the Cup finals last season"

Something else to think about is the fact that the pens have been in desperation mode as of late. This has been playoff hockey. I feel sorry for the team in the first round against them. The couple games it might take other teams to into the playoff mode will already be out of the way for the pens.

I see teams like boston, washington ect. as good teams still but cooling down a little. I'd rather be peaking now and into the playoffs rather than the middle of the season.

Another good game tonight!! well, for 2.5 periods... i don't mind giving up one goal, but for a while there, it looked liek they were letting it slip away a bit!

So what about this Ovechkin deal? Ya know, i have no problem with the stuff he does usually... but the performance last night was over the line imho... I think the NHL should do something about it, or other players are going to think its ok, and they're going to start doing the same thing... and i really think pre-determined celebrations have no place in hockey... celebrate out of spontanuity (sp?) but what he did was rediculous imho.

I agree with you about the Ovechkin thing. I saw that then rewound it and watched it again because I thought it was ridiculous.

I watched the MSU/RMU game at Primantis and I was pulling for my Colonials with one of my other friends that I went there with. They were winning at one point in the 1st half by 2 points but let it slip away in the second. 77-62 was the final.
