Yea, they definitely looked good today... seems like the team is getting it together a bit... a win without Malkin and Crosby having a point is something that shows the remainder of the team is finally doing their part a bit....
Another win tuesday and i think we'll be in good shape... that'll be 3 in a row, going into a nice rest for the all-star break... :)

AHHHHH, i go nuts just watching the shithead play hockey.... like, he's so willing to shoot the puck on the second powerplay, but gawd have you ever seen someone so scared to shoot the puck with Malkin/Crosby on the ice? HOLY SHIT! In the second period malkin passed it to him twice as he was driving to the net wanting him to shoot and he holds the damn puck! even the crowd boo'd b/c he's too much of an idiot to realize what he should do.... I can't count on two hands the number of glaring mistakes he's made tonight!
I'm pulling my hair out watching this game... when are we going to finish some of the GOLDEN opportunities... cook misses wide open net, satan can't pull the trigger on great opportunities.... If the pens make no moves before the trade deadline, i will find it amazing if Malkin wins the scoring title... b/c he and crosby are the only ones who consistently score.... everyone else just wastes their huge efforts most of the time!

That whole team played like ass in the 2nd period, which is what lost the game. It's bad enough this team is inconsistant from game to game, now it's period to period.........PATHETIC!!!!
NO ****ING EXCUSE for that loss....
4 minute penalty to end the game and we can't score... and why? because we don't have a pointman that can do his damn job... Tonight, instead of crosby running the powerplay from the half-wall, it was Malkin, and he did a spectacular job.... making all the right choices, but in that 4 minute penalty, both Whitney and Letang REFUSED to take a shot! always looking to pass the puck to someone else.... instead of trying to make a play, just rely on the big boys to do everything!
PATHETIC.... that powerplay failure was ENTIRELY on the pointmen... they blew it... the pens got their chance, and only a couple guys didn't put in the effort needed to win... shows just how much of a team game hockey is... if only 1 or 2 guys don't give their all, it will not work out...
GOtta give it to Ward - played a spectacular game, but the Pens didnt' capitalize on their chances, and the powerplay woes are just killing me... And i truly believe its all because we don't have someone on the point.... Until Gonchar comes back, the pens need desperately to put Malkin back on the point... he makes good choices, and SHOOTS THE DAMN PUCK! as hard as he shoots, there's going to be rebounds and there's going to be chances.... without someone on the point to make shots, all thats going to happen is players lookign for that perfect play - and how many times has it been preached - gotta get garbage, rebound goals if you want the powerplay to do well....

What a disappointment. How do you go from a game you played Sunday to this? The power play is lacking, thats for sure. Tonight is a perfect example of why I've been saying we need Gonch back. Hell, we need Dupuis, Talbot and Fedotenko back as well.
And where was our forechecking? Dumping the puck deep is great if you go and get it. I don't know how many times I watched them dump the puck and Carolina went in, got it and came back 3 men strong. FORECHECK!!!
As mentioned above, you have to make them pay when those big opportunities arise. When you have a great pass and a wide open net, you better make sure the puck is in the back of it. It being a team sport couldn't be any more true. We won the last 3 out of 4 games. Take a look at who stepped up and contributed goals in those games: a ton of 3rd and 4th line guys.
Lets hope they do make a few moves. Get rid of Staal for a good winger! I wouldn't mind seeing Satan go either.
They better rest up, get healthy and come back and play some strong hockey that they're capable of playing.
