What's up with the Pens?

Satan and Staal are two very different players, at two very different points of their career.

Satan was only a bust to those who didnt know anything about him coming into this year. He did exactlly what he always does production wise, and quite frankly Therrien really messed him up by playing him on a different line every night. I would of left him on Crosbys line till the wheels fell off. They were paying him to score goals, and he was not going to score goals on the 4th line. I am not a Satan appologist, but just by picking another player on the roster who makes close to what Staal makes and trying to compare production, potential and value is not the right argument.

Everyone wanted Hossa numbers from Satan, and again...its not apples to apples...its not even close!

I think its a damn shame he was sent down. I know they didn't have any options at the time because they needed the cap room but he is MUCH better then a minor league player.

I got to see the last 45 mins of the game.... I really didn't feel the Pens played all that bad.... Fleury didn't make some of the saves that he needed to make and most importantly, we didn't slam them when we needed to... All of those powerplay opportunities when it was tied, and we couldnt score - we needed to keep pounding it to them, and by not being able to score on those, they gained momentum...

I really did feel we played ok, just not good enough... and I think fleury needs to be better... I think we're still good tho!

Meh, I think we looked pretty rough. You're right though, there were times we were throwing it to the net and got some great chances but it seemed as if we had a hard time sustaining anything in the offensive end, especially on our own PP. There was one PP that it took about 4 or 5 rushes for us to just get in and establish control. That's just unacceptable playoff hockey IMO.

With that being said though, any team is bound to see those games from time to time so I'm not worried. Before this series started, I was saying us in five: we take the first two, split the aways, and win it at home.

it was a tough game. they seemed to be the team gettin the bounces today. our d didnt seem up to par today. fluery had an off day as well, i know it playoff hockey, but its hard to play at your highest level every game. i def. didnt think we looked that bad today, things just werent going our way.

im confident that we'll bounce back on tuesday and start like a bat outta hell. hopefully we cash in early.

This is a good point. The refs are not an excuse for our loss but I think there were definitely some bad calls made and it seemed as if they were pro Philly today. I thought the first two games were officiated much better, regardless of the outcome.

Sometimes I wonder how they don't call some of the things that happen in a game. Oh well, we'll just have to beat them with what they don't have much of: talent.

1) Ice was HORRIBLE
2) Flyers got the bounces but out played us.

I could have told you this from the day I started watching hockey. The fans are really the reason I hate the Flyers so darn much... My brother went to Game 4 of last year's Conference Finals in Philly and the stories he has of that place are apalling... I swear they act like barbarians... which is probably about the level of their intelligence, so that explains it...

My brother went to Game 4 of last year's Conference Finals in Philly and the stories he has of that place are apalling... I swear they act like barbarians... which is probably about the level of their intelligence, so that explains it...

This is so true. I went to the Philly game right after my Birthday (October 14th) with a friend. We won that game with the OT goal by Dupuis. Afterwards we were walking out and celebrating.

Had a lot of friends at school from philthy and as fans, im pretty sure they are all scum. flyers fans, eagles fans, phillies fan, and i guess no one really cares about the nba but ill say that 76er fans are too. theyre all pretty much overzealous front runners. if you have heart for your team, you stay with them through the highs and lows, not boo them and go ape shit the second theyre down in a game.

Fluery was amazing. I honestly dont remember a performace by any goalie that spectacular.

Attn flyers fans: Come out friday to see your favorite flyers out on the golf courses working on their game. No, wait. Phillys a shit hole so im sure they'll be as far away from the area as possible.

I've seen numerous times tonight, they had 3 guys within a 15 foot circle lookin like they're all trying to play the same position. Philly constantly had plays setting up, Pens skate down and try to make something happen with no design. Alot of puck mishandling as well. As long as there winning though...Aside from Fluery, I don't see them going to far in the playoffs, I'll keep watchin though.
