I think Cooke has been great this series. Him a Kunitz have been all over the ice throwing their bodies around...
Oh, no doubt. I was just hoping that they wouldn't make a game out of taking stupid retaliation penalties and they didn't.

I would say definitely no on the Goddard for Adams idea. As for Sykora, he really has not produced a lot lately but I don't see pulling him for Satan. I think you have recognize that he's your guy and you stick with him.
Sykora looks like he is playing hurt sometimes to me, although they say he isn't. In game three he looked hunched over a bunch of times when he was skating up ice. Maybe it was me, but he didn't look right.

Tonight he didn't look to be playing with an injury at all, just looks to be trying to find the open spot and bury one.

I think he is your guy, espcially when your winning lol...I find no reason to switch a proven goal scorer for a guy who hasn't played in 2 months or so.

Indeed. That's what I was getting at. I think you need to stick with him and he'll get some of the back of the net eventually.

Like I said, I see both teams making a effort to change their approach to one another. Its not like the regular season where you can get chippy and fight and live to play another game. Playoff hockey means you drop one game for being stupid, and you could be done...for good!

Philly looked to be trying to not take penalties all game, although they still did take a few stupid ones. Pens looked to be trying and not get caught up in the antics of the Flyers, and they have done a very good job for the most part save for game three

    Agreed.

I thought that both teams looked pretty timid at the beginning of the game. It was almost like neither one wanted to fall into giving the other team a chance to score on the PP.

You're right though, you can see a huge difference in Philly's play but the dirty plays are still there, just a bit more subtle.

They both looked like they were just waiting for the other team to make a mistake to take advantage of it...

    Here's a good quote from ESPN.com:

"The Flyers pulled Biron, who had 22 saves, with 1 minute left and got nothing with the extra attacker. Talbot almost immediately fired an easy shot from in front of the Penguins bench all the way into the net.

All that was left was for the public address announcer to tell the fans to "keep the faith" as they headed toward the exits."

I know, they keep going up and down the ice.

I would love to see the Sharks get bounced in the first round.

I wish I could watch the Canucks and Blues game. It's tied 2-2 and in overtime.

EDIT: Canucks just won in OT. They sweep the Blues 4 games to 0.

Pulled off the win! Ohh yeah!!!! I really hate Philly too!! Pens kinda played a little flat footed at times. They need to be bringin it alot more I think to'em, play smart and physical. Defense needs to stop backin into the face off circles in our zone too. Fluery looked supurb tonight. He had to make up for that last off game he had. GO PENS!!!!

i dont agree with the pens not making a run at the cup.(not just because im a homer) they are playing one of the highest powered o's in the league so of course theyre gonna sit back on their skates a little cause theyre too worried about giving up the big play and trying to contain all their guns. that is another reason why the PP is lacking in this series. sarge looks like hes ready to retreat everytime the puck is passed up to the blue line in fear of the SH goal. no matter what they say, its in the backs of their minds. if it gets us into the second round in five games against a big time rival, ill take it anytime.

overall im not worried at all with the way they are playing. I think they are trying to adjust to the team they are playing and they look a little sloppy doing so. after this series, im sure we'll look like the fast paced, agressive team at the end of the season. i honestly think we could make a great run at the cup. the only team that i was really concerned about playing was wash. hopefully the rangers wont choke that away. everyone's playin pretty solid except sykora, and hey, if he can turn it around things will be lookin great.

as for the ducks, i really wish they would have stayed matched up with the wings. the way they came on at the end of the season really made me think they would give det. a run for their money in the first round.
im sayin chicago and pens rematch!!!

does anyone else think the officiating is completely ridiculous??
