What's up with the Pens?

The joe is much quicker than the mellon. Jesus, just look at the ice after the zamboni passes it before a game vs the mellon.

I played industrial league Hockey for 6 years at different rinks around the city Lakeview, Mt. Lebanon, Rostraver, Civic Arena, Beaver, Monroeville mall, never found a difference when prepared for league games.

I would assume the ice at the Mellon & Joe would be in excellent condition for the playoffs unless the refrigeration system has a problem..

The puck slides on the same ice for both teams I don't see the advantage?

The Joe is known to have some of th best ice in the NHL but both teams skate on the same ice.

The way I look at it is the wings benefit from great ice conditions since their particular style of hockey blends with it. Granted ours does also but going back to the start of this...playing on the same ice, the home team always has the advantage. Just listen to the crowd In det. vs pit.

The igloo doesn't shake nearly as much as the Joe, and no matter what anybody says, that has to get into all players minds.

20 minutes until game time!! I hope we come out and play a full 60 minutes of solid hockey. It just wouldn't be cool to see Detroit hoist Lord Stanley on our home ice two years in a row...

If we take it to 7 games I honestly think game 7 will be a great game. I wouldn't dare guarantee a win in game 7, but I think it could be one to remember.

How the f u c k does Detroit get away with shit that the pens get called for?? LIke the crosscheck just called on Geno... that happens on every single play.. you see him and crosby getting toppled over all the time by those little stick checks in teh back... but because the dude acts like a little puss, he gets a call.... its just horseshit...

And Bish stop bitchin about the refs that was the correct call and the game was called evenly.
I hope they have someone with a TV at the NMRA race in Milan Friday night or I'm leavin early to watch the game ;)

I really don't like complaining about officiating, b/c i really look down on it... but i'm going to take my turn - that was FAR from the correct call... just because the game was called evenly, does not mean that the calls were correct.... I'm sure there were several other "valid" penalties that could have been called against the pens throughout the game... the timing is where i have my gripe... you let crap liek that go on all game, and then call that ticky-tacky call late in the game... i just don't care for it... watch the replay, even the ref was unsure, thus waiting several seconds - if the guy wouldnt have hit is head off his teammates a$$, the call wouldnt have been made

I've played the game most of my life, currently still do and I am one of the few people who watch as much of both teams as possible as a fan of both.
I hear both sides bitching about the same stuff and sure, the refs have been terrible this series, but i think they've been equally terrible to both sides.
All I can say is that Fleury should buy Scuderi a beer after making FOUR saves in the crease to save the lead.
I hope game 7 is epic and the refs suck less.

I actually felt the pens had an advantage from the calls last night. Det. got boned this time.

They really need to call game 7 right that way no ones bitching on either side after the 3rd period buzzer.

Well, just elaborating on what Bish said then.....

If you look at that call and just that call then yea, it can be called a cross-check. After all, Malkin did hit him in the back with his stick. The point that Bish was making and also why i didn't like the call was because you see that in every game, in every battle on the boards or in front of the net at any point of the season and it is not called.

If you're going to call it, then call it every time you see it which would be every 45 seconds and that obviously doesn't happen. Its the inconsistency that bothers me the most. It seemed as if they where waiting for something that could possibly be called a penalty so they could "even up the calls" so to speak. It was a weak hit and an even weaker call. Not to mention that the guy embellished a good bit to get that call.

Although there where a few things that the Pens got away with too so I guess I'll stop my bitching.

Ahh, either way I guess. I just like when the teams decide the outcome.
