Hell of a game. Every Penguin earned this for their effort this year and last year. It was great to see 87, 71 and 29 to hoist the cup, but it was better for me to see Staal, Gonchar and Satan to hold it.

Yes it is. I went to so many games and a bunch when they were sitting in 10th place. I kept telling everyone to have faith and that they could pull into the playoffs. This is just icing on the cake. I'll enjoy this all summer.

Hell yes! I've had sooo many arguments with people regarding the Pens this year- ie, "They suck" "They're done" "They won't make the playoffs" "The Caps will eliminate them" "No way are they going to beat Detroit" "Detroit in 5"... I feel so vindicated right now. :D

Anyone watch FSN after the game ?
Jay Caufield made an excellent point about Hossa.
He said Hossa never pressured the Pens defense at all. Even though Crosby and Malkin had only 3 goals between them, they made the Wings work and defend when they were on the ice. Hossa on the other hand, played the whole series from the perimeter. There was a sequence last night where he skated past the net and Fluery gave up a big rebound. It would have resulted in a great scoring chance for him had he stopped and pressured our goalie and D.
He was a non-factor.

What an incredible series. The changes of momentum and quality of play on both sides were amazing. Every member of the team contributed. In true Pittsburgh fashion, these last 4 months or so have been a complete team effort. CONGRATS PENS!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope we can find a way to keep this team together. With so many young stars there's a chance we could win this a bunch more times in the next 5-10 years!!

Also, hats off to the Wings. They are a great team and will always be a force to be reconed with.

How about the fact that the Pittsburgh is the first city ever to have Stanley Cup Champs and Super Bowl Champs in the same year?!?! Is that awesome or what!!!!!

No he won't... there's no where near enough cap room to sign him, while keeping all the "little guys" that make the team great....

Someone else will give him lots of money, whether or not he dissapears in the playoffs every year
