Gill does some stupid shit out there no doubt! At least Letang can skate and has a little offensive ability's. Gills a 6'7" pansy. He should be pulverizing players out there with that size.
Agree
just read a report that the panthers are interested in letang, and possibly staal...but if you look hard enough you can find a report about any team being interested in any player haha...
just thought i would share what i was finding, florida is looking to move bouwmeester in this article, and then you can find an article that says he is staying lol...
i wouldnt mind seeing staal traded for nathan horton of florida

lol...neither staal or whitney are really helping the Pens move them with their play right now...
staal cant put it in the net, and whitney is just playing poor in general...anyone trading for these guys is going on potential and possible need for their teams...
and i feel you just have to get letang back in the line up now...kid is just to talented to be a healthy scratch on a regular basis...
i like eaton, he would be perfect with letang

Eaton is the first hockey player in the NHL from Delaware...that always seems to be said during the broadcast for some reason. I heard it again during Sundays game against the Caps lol...
Eaton is an average d-man, can't say anything bad about his play really. He adds depth to the roster, and at times he outplays Hal Gill from my vantige point. He doesnt bring anything "special" to the defense, but he isn't a liability either. If you look at his short career, for his playing time and from what he is asked to do he does an average job. When you are part of a defense with big time names like Gonchar & Orpik, Scuderi who is quietly becoming a very good player, Whitney who has high expectations, and Letang who is marked early in his career as a top offensive d-man with all the talent and skill with the puck and skating...where does Mark Eaton really fit other than depth and giving guys the night off.
Nothing wrong with that when you think of how the defense has played at times this season. Other than Whitney, Hal Gill is my personal biggest let down...in fact Gill really should be the biggest let down thus far. Whitney has a big time injury to come back from, whats Gills excuse?
I would be down for giving Eaton some more ice time, why not?

Gill consistantly pisses me off.
Yeah, Like I said Eaton just seems average to me but thats a good point about having some depth there for sure. + 1 on scuderi, he is really starting to make a name for himself in the nhl.
I love how gonchar can come back and 2-3 games later pick up where he left off 3/4 of the season later. I think thats the difference between a decent d-men like whitney, and a world class player like gonch. Just glad to see him back and scoring goals...
Gonchar is my favorite player, so no need for me to plug for him! He is a worldclass player, and thats not sayin Ryan Whitney can't be...
But you make a valid point. Gonchar comes back from a bad shoulder injury and his slap shot is still deadly accurate and powerfull. His skating is what is always has been, his positioning around the net is very good. He is picking up where a player like Gonchar picks up, right where he left off...in a class of only a handfull of players in the league.
Whitney is struggling to get his bearings straight on the ice, his vision has to be off with his giveaways, he is careless with the puck like I have never seen before from him. I hate to give up on a guy like Whitney who had and has the ability to be a quality player, but the Pens with the way there roster is set up, they cant afford to wait anymore on Whitney to come around or snap out of it as you will. It is only being amplified by their struggles all year and right now trying to get into the playoffs.
But it is what it is, and from my vantige point Whitney is expendable...but who wants a guy with alot of upside who is playing bad hockey right now? Who knows if he will ever be the same skater he was before the injury?
It really stinks...and I know I keep harping on this, but whats with the double standard with Letang and Whitney! If Letang is playing terrible in Bylsmas eyes, what is Whitney playing?
