Let's Go Pens!!!
I'm hoping for and expecting a great series, I think this one has 7 games written all over it. I hope the Wings get healthy because the way the Pens are playing they will need all the help they can get.

Lets just hope its the other team raising the cup this year...:)
Those are really great pictures. I bet it was amazing getting to see your team raise the Stanley Cup in person!
It was great timing, definitely worth the ticket price.
I had to take that second pic when they kept replaying that last second save.
Hossa is going to hear it pretty good here for game 3, so that will be interesting.
To be honest I wouldn't mind seeing the Pens win this year and then Detroit beat them next year :)

Well, if we win this year, who wants to bet douche Hossa jumps ship again back to Pittsburgh to try to win a cup? LOL.

I wouldn't mind him being in a Pens jersey again one bit! When the guys in the locker room say it, I tend to agree with it. I heard Kunitz and Gill both say how much respect they have for Hossa. Gill in fact said he wouldn't mind seeing Hossa back here, it is much better than having to play against him, espcially in a seven game series in the playoffs! Hossa is a world class player, who I hope gets shut down in the Stanley Cup. But for what its worth, looking at next year, Hossa back in Pittsburgh would be a great thing.
As much as I hate to rush the Stanely Cup by, I look forward to seeing what the Pens will do with resigning and bringing guys in. Its fun to listen to people cry about loosing players, (usually their favorite haha) chemistry, experience, and then seeing it all not matter one bit haha...the only thing that matters is the game at hand. As long as the Pens have Crosby, Malkin, and Flerury they will be a contender. It is up to management as to see how to surround those players with wingers and defense in front of Fleury.

Best thing that ever happened was Hossa leaving. If he would have stayed we might not have made moves for Guerin and Kunit, and we probably would have played better (not as good as we're playing now) and kept Therrien!
BTW - PENS in 6!!!!
I dont think Therrien was staying no matter what. He was a stop gap, and when your superstars like Crosby, Malkin, Fleury, Orpik, Hossa all didn't care for him or his ways, well you figure out the rest haha...I was happy to see a coaching change...the time was right.
I didn't care one way or the other if Hossa did or didn't leave, and you can all day sit and pick apart the what ifs, and we wouldn't of done these moves, or lost that player, or this guy and this coach all day long.
The end result, we are only as good as last years team still to this point. We as a team seemed to be more balanced and clicking at the right time of the season and playoffs this year though. The biggest + in my eyes over last year at this point in time in Malkin and Crosby. Malkin is playing out of his mind, and Crosby just refuses to loose. Crosby also has more help coming from the likes of Guerin, Kunitz, Malkin, Feds, Talbot...not just having count on Hossa to score goals.
From what I have witnessed, they are catching Detroit at the right time. Although I am not sure if catching Detroit ever is a good thing, but if there ever was a chance to snatch one away from them, this is the year to do it...
Pens in 5...![]()

I agree Laz.... If Crosby, Malking, and Fleury continue to show up, Pens in 5 is my pick..... however, if they don't, its going to be a much harder series!

I just hope those injuries to Dats and Lids are as bad as they are appearing to be...although I saw Lidstrom is a probable for game one. They more than likely felt like they had the series in hand going into game 5, so rested Datsyuk when he could of gone. But I thought I heard on Maddens show yesterday Lidstrom has a f'd up testicle?
Oh Mr. Kunitz, please knock Mr. Lidstroms testicle through his teeth!

Gonchar needs to light up a slapper from the blue line and nail lidstrom in the nutz.
Seriously, the Pens have peaked at the right time. The started there "peaking" with the demise of the Washington Captials and only fortified it in magnitude against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Redwings nearly escaped defeat against the #8 Anaheim Ducks and coasted through the Blackhawks with little resistence or energy. Coupled with the fact they have a few players that are banged up, I believe the Redwings will be the ones on there heels and will need to be focused more than the Pens.
If the Pens can get the puck and control the game while keeping up the solid D so far, once our offense gets to cycling the puck, Detroit will be in big trouble.
LET'S GO PENS!!!!

Lidstrom practiced today along with Draper. Datsyuk only made it half way through practice. Erickson is out also..
I could care less if Hossa comes back. He had his chance at a good offer here.
Also, everyone talks about how we get to play Detroit at the right time and everybody hopes that some of their injuries last through the finals. I hope they don't and I hope Detroit comes out as strong as ever. I want to play them AND beat them at their best. I don't want a cup just due to the fact that the Red Wings couldn't play at their best. That kind of tarnishes the win.
So I hope both teams rest up and provide us with a great series. (with the Pens prevailing at the end, of course)

Been thinking about this series and what I think it's going to take to win it.
First, I think the pens absolutly need to stay healthy. If Crosby or malkin go down, that would be huge. The reason I say this is I believe these games will be run and gun. If there is any team in the league that can hang with det. in this style of game I think it's the pens as long as we're healthy!
Next is Fluery needs to be as good or better than he was towards the end of the series last year. When he plays well, we win!
Staal was a factor against this team last year in the finals and in the 7-6 win we had over det. this reg season. He doesn't need to score points (need to hit the net for that) just create plays and use his size the way he can.
Another thing we NEED this series is our D to play their best hockey of the year! There were a few games in the P/O's they looked pretty bad, but hopefully thats out of their system.
The power play needs to stay productive. Osgood isn't superhuman. If pucks are shot on goal he will fold like the unbelievable Cam Ward, Lol!
GO PENS!!!!!!!!!!
what a HIT, its goin to be a long series for hossa's B*tch ass
