What's up with the Pens?

They showed it a few times on TV during the game. Wish they wouldn't dump the puck every time they get it.

Det. is so damn tough in the N. zone, they almost have to dump and chase most of the time.

Pens are getting their chances. Sid was 6 feet from osgood with no one around and he was denied. If that was franzen or zetterberg in front of fluery it would have blown through the net. Thats gonna be the difference in this series. Who comes up big on the chances because both teams are turning the puck over regularly.

Detroit definitely slowed down in the 3rd period of game 3. If we keep dumping the puck and making the wings chase it - and finish our checks afterwards, it will take its toll and we'll own the 3rd period every game. So if we can keep the game tight we will have a chance.

You couldn't pay me to stand in front of the net while Gonchar or Letang lets one rip - JEEEEE-SUSS!!!!!!!!

I'm pumped they won. Going down 3 games to 1 to Detroit is not a good place to be. They looked strong and consistent the whole game. They had a lot of good chances and they cycled the puck well on them.

It's still going to be a tough battle. Pens in 7!

I never would have guessed the Pens would lay an egg like this in such a big game. Detroit isn't even playing that well - and Osgood does not look sharp. Thru 2 periods the Pens are simply a no-show...

Funny though - after the first 4 games of the refs letting them play, the whistles sure have been dusted off thus far in game 5. And I don't see that changing in the 3rd period...

I hear ya - I thought we could have been ahead 3-1 after the first period. We're just not converting. Hopefully we get things together in the 3rd period.

I'm not one to bitch about calls much, but WTF was that last night? I'm sorry but when you can put the wings on pp after pp you can easily fix a game. I don't blame any penguin for losing their cool.

This is a game of momentum and when you try to beat the home team at the joe it's hard enough, then you have to battle the officials?? They were saying how this officiating crew let them play before but I don't know what happened to that!! Both teams were taking liberty's but only one was being penalized...Total BS.
