    1988 Classic Subaru Justy Restoration!!

Well, I thought I'd let yunz know about my first car I still currently own and are now doin a mild restoration on. Its about to be gettin primed!
As u might know or not know its a very rare little go cart throw away hatch back car along the lines of a VW Rabbit, Golf/Gti, Ford Fiesta, Suzuki Swift.

I got the car in 1998-1999 and put way to much money into it than anyone should of. I got it for free and had put a couple thousand into it.
After movin to Florida in 2000-2002 to attend Fullsail and graduate in Show Pro. I was continuein to drop loot into it.

While cruisein out and about down there my buddy from PA ended up finded pics of me on the internet in DROP JAW Magazine's event coverage while I attended the Daytona Spring Break Nationals in 02' cruisein the strip.
And the first only and last car show I ever attended with it @ the University of Central Florida(UCF) IMPORT SPEED SOUTH happened to snap a pic of it too in 02'! I was soooo pumped about it, cause I know so many people had hooked up cars and mine was gettin some attention.

After I moved home and got the Stang, it became my winter beater in the worst weather for three winters. It was fun rallyin it around! But the salt took its toll on the junk sheet metal it was contructed of and couldn't be inspected after the 05' year. Although it was undercoated, a couple rust spots were pretty bad, specially the hatch. There was of no avail of findin an 88' hatch.
So the car sat and sat and sat! I could not let it go. I would never get the money out of it I put into it sellin or salvaging it. So I stored it into two seperate garages for the last two years and little by little cleaned all around it and underneath.

After about half way thru the first year my buddy's friend Rick Phillips who is a custom air brush artist who does (helmets, bikes, guitars, banners, signs) needed a place to do some work. So we split the rent and in return for hookin him up with the garage he said he would paint the car for me. I was like hell yeah!!

The first two car garage didn't last two long so we ended up movein out when we were there almost a year. The car was in pieces and we got deeper into it than we ever expected.
So this old beat 4 car garage venue two of my friends had held shows at called Planet Of The Apes and The Attack Shack(rip) came into play (My Chemical Romance, Terror, Atreyu, Bleeding Through, Bigwig, Slick Shoes, Underoath, Comeback Kid) all graced the stage there! Which me bein a music guru my whole life, this made my Justy that much more sentimental to me.

I'm REALLY sorry this is so long, no one probably cares anyway so I'll try to hurry. We totally redid the car, nothin a little tiger hair, and bondo couldn't take care of. We rebuilt the hatch, back fenders and here and there places all over the car, hood, roof and sides. He'll do mild car/truck body/paint work but his hearts into the smaller things mentioned above.
So if you need cheap great work done Rick is the man. Since I'm runnin high 13's he's paintin an older dirt bike helmet for me too. So when all finished and anyone's interested on some great custom paint/air brush work. I could hook u up with him. Can't go wrong, he's alwayz lookin for challenges and misc. projects to keep him busy!

But here's a little list of whats done:
    Exterior/Susp:
-American Racing 13" Rims, had 50 series BF Goodrich's
-custom bumper made out of black mulch grass divider w/ hellas and tinted turn signals
-Matrix Racing diamond headlight conversion w/ Hyper whites w/ daytime runners
    -Clear side markers
    -Gti VW spoiler
-painted around my tailights the same color as the car
-shaved hatch emblems, and rear wiper and squirter
-black engine enameld and undercoated under the car what needed done
-had cut springs 2 1/2", but no more, now newer 94' Justy spring/shocks
-had viper alarm system, but no more

    Interior:
    -painted accents
    -shift knob
-civic ex strut tower bar for show, doesn't really work but looks cool
-I had a full system, Rockford Fosgate subs/kicker amp, Kenwood head unit. Still got the RF high's, n tweeters in it thou.
-alot of gutted plastic interior stuff, side panels, back trays. Had nice white paint like the outside of car underneath, looks way better.
-had orange neons under seat headrests, but no more
-had tinted windows whole way around, but no more

    Engine/Exhaust/Brakes:
    -Ractive muffler and tip
-K&N air filter w/ ram air kinda
-new ignition coil, distributor cap/rotor, push button start
    -7mm Bosch spark plug wires/plugs
    -Z-Max lubricants added
-new cheap japan rotors/painted drums n calipers
    -newer cv/ball joints
-for a 3 banger it ran high 17's!!

That's about all I can think of for now, Stay Tuned!!!!!!!!!

I ran one in college without oil for six months, we took it off roading(yeah I know)and ripped the rear susp out from under it , we left the little turd in the woods where it became a target. funny part was the thing still ran , would'nt move but it ran.

    Yeah,

I seen some crazy Justy Videos on U Tube doin jumps, hittin mud holes, and burnouts. Basicly beatin the livin daylights out of'em. But the motors never seem like they're ever gonna quit! Funny, makes me weak.

Older pics^^^^^^^^^of car lowered 2 1/2 inches w/ cut springs and BFG 50 series tires! Last pics you'll ever see of it like this or that is any Justy that I know of! They discontinued alot of 13" tires, so I pray ta God they got a tire that'll still fit under it. I'm afraid that it won't look as good without them.
Don't look too bad but oh well. Kinda bumed, I had to put the stock 94' Justy shocks/struts on cause of our GOOD roads we got here. I still can't wait to get it on the road w/ the classic plates!! More pics to come from the after work Resto!

    What year...

...is it? Do u know? Maybe I could hook up some parts off of him, for mine, or get the whole car cheap. That'd be real sick if was an AWD turbo model, they did make a couple in some of the years. I'd love to see pics of it. Where abouts is it at? Lemme know.
