    Rear suspension

Is there a reason why the stock suspension is in front of the axle and coilovers are behind it? If the rearend doesn't rotate under acceleration because of the control arms, why wouldn't the coils be mounted directly over the axle instead of behind or in front of it? Is it because of space or geometry?

i believe the springs being behind the axle dont have to be as stiff and would allow for more stored energy..

Those S197's have the coil spring bottom perch on top of the axle tube and they hook like a MOFO And only 1 upper control arm...
