I would get longtube headers, o/r x pipe, and your choice of mufflers. I have flowmaster right now on my sixer and think they sound great for being on a six cylinder. The slp loudmouth catback is very loud and also raspy which all comes down to your personal opinion and what you like. Magnaflow obviously is quieter but has more tone than slp.

As for the side exhaust it wouldn't look right without the side skirts to go with it imo.

i already got the longtubes and im gettin the side skirts as well... you think ill get enough tone outta the slp even without a mid pipe? or is it just gonna be noise? haha i had flowmasters before and i like the way they sound but i want a little louder.

Slp's sound like you're dragging 100 aluminum cans behind you. My vote is flowmaster, mac, or spintech.

Best sounding setup on a 4.6 modular engines "IMO" is Bassani high flow x-pipe and Flowmaster 2 chamber ...

On the side exhaust note. I don't think any of these will work. I think only roush is side exit. I wouldn't do slp

Unless it is a same side in/out side exhaust specific muffler, you're gonna have a really hard time using a traditional muffler in a side exhaust. It will most likely sit literally on the ground. Any bullet-style muffler will work best. Personally, I have Borla Stingers and would not have it any other way, sounds really good below 3k rpm, then after that it is seriously LOUD many guys on here can vouch for that

Define Best; Exhaust sound is too subjective. Since you asked though..

Mac Pro-Chamber with Flo Super 40 two chambers. Nothing better IMHO.

see now, i have had sooo many different exhuasts on my car, I have had flowmaster 1,2,3 chamber mufflers, i got sick of the shrill sound and went with a dual 3.5" then added an x pipe, with 2 dynomax race bullets, its really loud on the big end, but sounds like a mini rail when idling around and thats what i wanted...
