    More Carlisle 2009 Details

Ok everyone.. some good things are happening here with getting everything ready for Carlisle.

    What we need:

Everyone who is going to Carlisle, please donate $10 to Rodeheaver's and he will get our banner made through his connections. His PayPal is rodeyhotrod@verizon.net This is a requirement for the tent, and after it's used at Carlisle, you all can use it over and over at other events. It will be a 2' x 8' banner and we would like to use the picture on the homepage of the cars lined up by the bridge.

T-shirts! Who wants to help out and do the leg work for these? All we would need is a basic t-shirt with Steel City Stangs on it (preferrably in the logo at the top of the forums page with the horse above it. How cool would it be to see 25+ people walking around with Steel City Stangs t-shirts. We need volunteers :) Anyone have connections for t-shirts? They should be $10-15/person. See what you guys can find in the next couple weeks and let us know.

Lou is going to try to get us some stickers made to hand out if anyone wants them. We also could get some business cards and/or flyers to hand out to anyone interested in joining this site. It's possible there are people in Pennsylvania who do not know this site exists. What a shame! Let's get the word out there. These can also be used at other events. www.vistaprint.com is a good site that offers quality products for "free"... all you have to do is pay shipping cost usually (if you buy the basic. If you upgrade, that's where the expense comes in). Anyone want to volunteer to have these done? Can anyone do them at home with photoshop?

Rodeheaver's is going to bring his big grill, and he's working on a banner from his business. Lou has a banner from LaurelMountain and Wolfpack has a banner I believe.

Things are really coming together. Just need 10 more to register before May 19th and we have our tent! One of our members has offered to pay the tent fee, so that is taken care of.

Thanks again for everyone's help. I appreciate it.

Looking forward to an awesome weekend with you all.

made those real quick to get this rolling.

Lou, do you still have the full size image of the homepage and know what font was used for the SCS logo? I'm worried that it won't be a high enough resolution to get the picture blown up to a big huge banner.

An alternative to the homepage picture is that we could all get together early in the spring & take the same picture again.

A second alternative would be to piece together some sort of mural as the background for the banner so that things don't get pixelated toooo bad when they get blown up to like 5x the file size

Looks good Bo! Thank you for working on those. And whatever way works best for the banner. I dont know what they need to make those. Maybe Rodeheaver's can get us some info and you guys can go from there with it. =)

J, you have until May 19th to register with the club. If you are only going to visit and not show a car, then just show up and hang out with us. No worries :)

I think the t-shirts are a good idea

Why not have the background of the business cards be our forum banner from up top of the page? That may look good

hey Bo, i just talked to the sign guy and he said he needs a picture, and actual picture to do the sign like the home page.... So for an 10'X3' digital printed banner with the homepage pic and the steelcity logo, it will run us 250-300$, LMK what we need to do to get this done or if we evan want to do it this way..

I sent $10 this morning. I put in the message area on paypal it was for the banner too.

Can your sign guy do a 2x8 with the colored picture? 3x10 might be too big? What do you guys think?

Bigger IS better ... in some instances LOL.. but, Im thinking of the tent size for right now. If we do end up with their smallest tent, dont want a banner that has to wrap around it :P

I'm thinking the 2x8 will be perfect.

$$$$$ standard is free, just pay shipping. I think anything is better than nothing, all they gotta do is keep the card & go to the site. If they're enthusiastic about the idea of SCS, they'll come no matter what the card says/looks like.

Ask him if he wants it to be a specific format like 10'x3' or a smaller version that he will blow up to be that size, and what DPI (dots per inch).

If we all get together, I can literally make us an unlimited megapixel image if that's what he wants(my computer might catch on fire, but I can do it lol). Its not hard to do, but I have to take the pics for it to work (or have someone take them exactly the right way).

What's the signs turnaround time? if it doesn't take very long, we ought to all get together downtown somewhere some weekend in spring that way we can get a really high resolution that will look crisp when it's blown up. Just a thought

    Update

I just sent in the application for the Club Tent and paid for it in full. As before, another SCS member offered to pay so they can just pay me back (also sent them a PM). So we can continue with plans for food and decorations/theme for the tent, because whether we meet the 25 criteria or not, the tent will be there.

I know you guys still want some time away from this topic, but just keep things in mind OK :)
