Top 10 cars for traffic tickets

According to a recent study, this truck is more likely to get a traffic ticket than any other car model.
(Credit: Hummer)

A study by ISO Quality Planning identified the 10 most ticketed vehicles and the 10 least ticketed. The study puts the Hummer H2 and H3 at the top of the list, followed closely by the Scion tC. Actually, two other Scion models, the xB and xA, also make the top 10 list. A couple of Mercedes-Benz AMG models, the CLK63 and CLS63 also make the list, which shouldn't come as a surprise. The 10 least ticketed cars include a healthy dose of minivans and trucks.

Most ticketed - Rate
Hummer H2/H3 - 463%
Scion tC - 460%
Scion XB - 403%
Mercedes Benz
CLK63 AMG - 397%
Toyota Solara Coupe - 306%
Mercedes Benz
CLS63 AMG - 276%
Scion xA - 275%
Subaru Outback - 266%
Audi A4 - 264%
Toyota Matrix - 264%

Least ticketed
- Rate
Jaguar XJ - 11%
Chevrolet Suburban - 16%
Chevrolet Tahoe - 21%
Chevrolet C/K
3500/2500 pickup - 28%
Buick Park Avenue - 32%
Mazda6 - 34%
Buick Rainier - 37%
Oldsmobile Silhouette - 37%
Buick Lucerne - 40%
GMC Sierra
C1500 pickup - 40%

*Violations per 100,000 miles driven, expressed as percentage of average.
The study doesn't specify what kinds of traffic tickets, so there's no telling if Hummers are more likely to speed or run red lights, but you could probably make some reasonable guesses. It also seems unfair to lump the H2 and H3 together.

that has nothing to do with the actual vehicle being picked on by cops... it has to do with the personality/characteristics of the people that buy those vehicles....

No offense Bo, b/c i know your'e not like this, but i have yet to see a Hummer driver that isn't a total douche-bag, and thinks that he can do whatever he likes on the road.... Also, most scion's i see are being driven by teenage/20's girls - and well all know how duntzy they are .... those are just a few examples that jump off the page to me...

I think the most surprising to me is the Jaguar XJ being on the least ticketed list

You guys are missing the real reason why those vehicals get more tickets.

Think about it this way... You are out on a safari watching a group of zebra. Everything is calm and the zebra are just laying around with out a care in the world, then out of nowhere a lion comes running out and BOOM! The zebra take off! As you watch you see that the lion doesnt chase the fastest zebra in the group. Nope he take the slow @$$ on the end.

The same is true here. The Hummers are the slow @$$ gimp vehicals of the group.

So the Chevy Suburban and the Park Avenue are the fast ones in the group??? lol

I mean, using ur logic, the Jag is the only Ford made vehicle in the top 10 least ticketed - amongst a ton of GM vehicles... so i guess that tells you how slow Ford vehicles are comapred to their GM counterparts :p :D

Bish, I agree 100% with you on both hummers and scions. I look at a lot of the guys driving H2's mostly & just say to myself "my God, I hope I never find myself driving/acting like that"
I got my h3 because it was the car/truck I liked the most for the lease price I got it for, not because I thought OH WOW I"M SO SWEET IN MY CHEVY COLORADO FRAMED SUV WITH THE ANEMIC INLINE FIVE, which is unfortunate that some people really do buy that hype. Do I love my truck? Some days... its a love/hate thing.

oh, and of the women driving H3's I've seen: they're either young and cute/hot or they're rough looking dykes. Kinda polarizing, but maybe its just my area?

Well they don’t want to eat the bones lying in the grass. (That would be my f-150) So they get a free pass and are exempt. lol

CLS63 AMG - 276%
^that one had me scratching my head too. They must have pulled it over alot because its on the list twice.

Cops seem to like to pick on my f250(maybe it's the big tires and wheels), and they really liked to pick on my Dodge daytona., a lot.
