    WTB: Tires

Looking for tires to fit 18x10 wheels, preferably a drag-radial but let me know what you have.

    Thanks.

x2, Your best bet would be get nittos since you drive it on the street alot. MT will wear out too fast and BFGs SUCK if you get caught in the rain..

Hell i drove my black car in the snow with nittos and was going better driving than my mom in her taurus lol

I'm not dogging you at all clark, but on an 18" wheel, there would really be no need to buy a drag radial.... at you power level, you should be more than capable of hooking up a 315 or so tire without it beign a super soft drag radial... See what's cheap out there...

Couple suggestions of what i've used or know people who have used - the Sumitomo HTR-Z is soft and CHEAP, but not a very good looking tire - i think the HTR-Z II is a better tire though but not positive... Also, Ray had good luck with the one Avon tire as well! I also had good luck with a set of cheap Riken's on my LT1, but i don't think they come in a wide 18" size

Just thinking, why buy an expensive drag radial, that will wear out quickly, when its not really necessary?

The HTR-Z is more than sticky enough... it was holding the power reasonably well when my T/A was h/c/i, with 398rwhp and 4:10's in the rear.....

but like i said, they aren't a very good looking tire on

There are a lot of better options out there, but if you want to save some big $$ then the HTR-Z would be a good option... it was very sticky for the first half of its treadlife... hooked up my T/A when it was a cammed car with 396rwhp thru 4:10 gears...

I thought I had heard the HTR-Z II was similar, but i did just see that the treadwear is a bit higher on the II ....

There's definitely better options out there... but bang for the buck, the HTR-Z isn't a bad tire... it was a kinda ugly tire on a 16" wheel, but that's b/c there's a lot of sidewall, and it bulged - on a 18" wheel, i think it'd look a lot better.... For as cheap as they are, you can probably buy them, use them til they quit beign sticky around 50% treadlife, and then buy another pair - all for less than other tires....

Brent I definitely hear what you're saying and agree with you but I ran 305/35/18 Nitto DRs that I got 12,000 miles out of (more than the factory '01 Cobra BFGs) and still had probably 1-2k miles left.
I think they're like $280 range per but someone on one of the Cobra sites says Steeda has them for $250. The Nitto 555 RII, DR compound with slightly stiffer sidewall (I think Bo runs those) would be my choice for a more daily driver.
Also Toyo (Nittos parent company) is coming out with a DR (search Toyo Proxes TQ) that is 315/35/18.
