"Shots of the 2010 Taurus SHO - To have 355 HP
If you have been beat by a Taurus in the last twenty years, it was more then likely an SHO. The original V6 that was designed by Yamaha made 220 horsepower in its front wheel drive configuration and was fast for it’s time. I remember SHOs at the “not so legal races” that would lay waste to lightly modded fox body Mustangs. The SHO was reborn as an aluminum V8 in the mid 90s that only saw 15 additional horsepower, which didn’t help from the extra weight they gained.

As it seemed that the SHO name had been lost, Ford has brought back this iconic name for the future Taurus line. These are some of the first images captured of the SHO without any masking. The EcoBoost V6 that has become a hot ticket for the Lincoln MKS and MKT will find its way into the SHO. This means that the SHO will get over an additional 100 horsepower compared to previous models, settling in at 355 horsepower and 350 ft-lb, aided by twin turbos. Other possible modifications include all wheel drive and a 6-speed transmission.

Though the SHO looks like it will be heavy, with AWD low-end acceleration and 45 more horsepower than the Mustang, it may even be a contender in the muscle car world.
