    Capri Progress

Got at the Capri pretty good today. Head is re-installed, everything pretty well bolted up, sealed up, etc. Got the new header, turbo and related stuff bolted on. The turbo will be off and on a few more times to finish some details, but the pictures are how it's gonna look ;) Also have the pipe with PMAS sensor installed for the Mass Air conversion.

I still need to fab up the hot side intercooler piping (turbo to IC), Figure out what I'm going to do with my blow off valve now, and finish welding the downpipe, a coolant line, and a 100 other details. At least it's mostly in the same place now, and under the hood :D I am also going to fab up a cold air set-up, the filter is just on the turbo inlet to keep junk out ;)

    that's purdy.

you must be pushing some major PSI if that air is just going to jump that 18-24" ? gap from the turbo to the intercooler. WOW

Got back at this a bit last night and tonight. All of the fab work is done. I need to take a few parts to Mike for welding, then a little paint and we are ready to go :D I set the inlet of the turbo up so I can put the VAM in place for start-up and tuning, then will add an elbow to put the filter under the frame rail. There are a couple of regular worm drive clamps in the pictures, but I only use them to mock up, everything will be T Bolt Clamps.

Also, picked up one of the new UPR Rock Crusher shifter handles. I have a bit of a reach for my knob when belted in so I'm hoping this moves it back enough to be comfortable. we will see.

Got the same issue, then it's compounded by 5 point belts ;)

I installed this today, seems fine, but is deffinately "different". Basically 1st/3rd are now where 2nd/4th where, and 2nd/4th are the whole way back.

    Shifter in 1st gear

    Shifter in 2nd gear

    Yeah, I know it's dirty.

I also installed the new Boost gauge and changed my AEM WB02 to black face / silver bezel to match. I really like the Stewart Warner Maximum Performance gauge so far, the lighting is through the numbers versus around the bezel with an Autometer. Yeah it only idles with 10" of vacuum, price to pay for a big cam I guess.

You need a Vac storage can, check the JY for early hidden headlight cars.
Looks like the time to make a shifter!
