    Line lock question

I just installed a Hurst roll control on my 92. Everything went fine. The only issue is that when I release the button there is a small delay before the front brakes release. If I just use the foot brake the delay is not present. It is not a long delay at all. Less than 1 second. Anyone else notice this? Thanks

I use a TCI line lock and have zero delay. It may be the switch you use to activate it. Also is it plumbed the correct way, in/out?

Which side of the prop valve did you install it? From what I've read its better to be installed after the prop valve. I just purchased the Hurst lineloc myself, have yet to install it, but been reading up on it. (Mine has no directions). Hopefully others who have put one in will chime in.

Exactly! The install is what affect response, mine is instant.

Mine is installed after the prop valve, and a seperate line runs from the line lock to each front wheel. Typically you need to remove one line from the MC on a 3 port set-up (mine is 2), then get one line from the prop valve to the line lock, then lines to each wheel. this involves plugging a port at the prop, running a line ot the line lock, then lines from the line lock back to each wheel, than adapting the goofey one metric wheel, one standard wheel brake lines.

The prop valve will allow residual presure to back feed, as will not isolating the master cylinder or the wheels.

I called Hurst's tech line today and they claim it is normal. I hooked it up according to their directions. He said I will not notice it once the car is on the ground. Has anyone checked their car with the wheels off the ground and someone else hitting the button? I really don't know what to do here.

I am really confused now. Yours is instant, 2 people on Corral said they have slight delays, and Hurst tells me to compare it to another car. I am hoping to have it off the jackstands this weekend so I will drive it. Can nothing ever just go smooth?

I have a JEGS and I believe your HURST has 2 outlets?
    Here's a picture of mine (93 GT)
It comes out the rear port of the MC, to top of LL, out bottom of LL then splits, one directly to left front wheel, the other to the PV and onto the right front wheel. I also, forgot to mention that I plugged the bottom port of the MC basically making it a 2 port MC.
Not sure of that helps....mine is instant on and off the ground.
I have never seen a difference before or after the PV, but being yours is a 2 outlet LL, I would think you have to put it after the PV and your split is the LL itself, then onto the left and right wheels.

i'm getting ready to install my line lock on my 93 cobra, my left front brake goes to the left side plug on the picture above of the prop valve, and the right side front brake goes into the bottom on the left of the prop valve pictured above... I plan on just running 1 line from the master cylinder to the line lock and one from the line lock to the top port of the prop valve on the left side.. that should feed the left and right front tire both at the same time correct?

That's one way to get into issues with a LL. Leave the lines from the MC to the prop valve alone. At the prop valve remove BOTH lines going to the wheels. Plug one port on the prop valve, run the other to the LL. Now run short lines from the line lock to each of the wheel lines. It is easier if you have a three port line lock as you can run two short lines from the LL to each wheel. I don't know why i'm trying to type this, here are te Hurst directions for the little kit they sell.....

The difference on my 84 is that I only have one line from the MC to PP, so my plug went in the prop valve instead of the MC as shown.

thanks martin, i understand how to do it both ways, as i've done it before that way, i'm just trying to find out why it wouldn't be a good idea, i'm a little fuzzy on that.
