Tire Size Question

A buddy of mine just got 225 55 17 tires and is curious if they can stretch onto a 17x9 fr500 wheel.

My guess is no the smallest they should go is 275 40 17 or even 255 40 17 but wanted to double check with you guys.

Even if it would fit it would look like hell..I say what you think, the 275-40.

i had 245s on my red 95 gt and looked like crap.. Def get 275s

atleast do a 265. i have 265 on a 9.5 inch wheel and it is flush looks good.
