It would have run last night but I encountered a minor problem. I need a spacer for the systemax to clear the valve covers. I believe I have one coming hopefully for the weekend.

That's funny, my 90 GT has the same valve covers on Trick Flow heads with a Systemax and it clears them just fine.

No shit? How? Youe covers have the raised fins on them? Mine hits plain as day. I am almost tempted to get this thing down to Tims on Saturday if I can get it worked out in the next night or two. I gotta throw some miles on it first before the whoopen from tuning.

You know what though, I have the older systemax. The one with the vacuum fitting in the front as well as the rear. Wonder if that makes a difference with the casting. It may have been updated and made smaller at the cover. I have seen people grind theirs down to clear but I just cant do that.

I fired mine for the first time while it was strapped to the dyno
Rings seat quick and the dyno can actually help you break it in, but I here what you're saying.

In that case, what the hell. HAHAHHA I still need the spacer to get the upper to bolt down. Plus, Tims is about an hour drive for me so it could get a nice break in going down 79 and the back road to his shop.

Mine has the vacum ports on the front and back too. Don't know, it just bolted right down.

Thats odd Ed. I have not been milled or anything. I clearly have a gap between the upper and lower and its resting on the valve cover.

Wrong side Mike. He was showing me that we have the same era castings. On the drivers side, the intake kinda swoops down. Thats the part that hits the valve cover.

That's not the stock coil. It's a Crane and has a Crane ignition on it too.

maybe robs deck has been shaved or his heads have been shaved causing the clearance issue. who know's???
