    If the cars moniters are ready, the gas cap passes, and the check engine light does what it should it will pass. If you wait until you have owned it 1 full year and can prove you have less than 5k miles on it in that year you can get an exemption. Either way whoever tests it isn't breaking the law.

    What I would do (even though it'll take a little wrenching) is borrow ray's catted pipe, throw it on, get it inspected, then next year once you've owned the car long enough and can prove less than 5k miles, you'll be exempt and all is well. just my .02

    the place in bethel i get mine checked at didnt give 2 shits both times ive gotten my car inspected... they pretty much say hell no to looking under the car lol

    I will say on mine, it has stock headers, bassani catted x and bassani catback. We hooked it up to the emissions machine, and it passed like all but 2-3 sections according to the computer (can't remember what they were). The employee was surprised, but it still let us print me the stickers. That was 2 yrs ago. This past yr I only drove it 2500 miles, so I got a nice exemption.

    There is a visual check when you do the state inspection.
