Exclamation help needed: side mirror removal

I was planning on having my driver side and passenger side mirrors painted black to match the rest of me car.

Tonight I took the speaker cover off, unbolted the speaker, and unbolted the mirror. My problem is the wire the controls the power mirror. WHere does it disconnect from the rest of the car????

    thanks for any info, Mike

first i adjusted the mirror so tha it was turned in as far as you can go then you can see the outside part of the mirror where it is attached and then i pried it of easily it doesn,t take much force

the door panels on an SN really arent that hard to get on/off. shouldnt take too long. now the door panels on a fox, thats a different story.... haha

Since your car is black I'd leave them alone. I have painted mirrors on my '95 and they look good color matched, but with a black car you in luck as your mirrors pretty much match already. If yours are oxidized and faded as mine were on my '94 cobra, get yourself some 3M hand glaze, a black foam pad, and an orbital and hit them with that. I did this to my '94 and WOW, what a difference. They were a flat black/gray oxidized color and now they shine like brand new, and if the car was black it'd be a darn near perfect match. Here's the only pic I have that shows them in their current state after buffing them.

not to mention rock chips hit the mirrors dead on so it would be easier to **** up the paint
