    Maby buying a mach1

Well I am considering buying this mach1. It is owned by a 54 year old man who only drives it on weekends. He is the second owner and the first owner did all the mods. I have read some of his posts and he has had some problems with it. The rear need welded inside the trunk(got that fixed by the dealer), it has a rattling noise by the shifter and it was staling when you were driving over 50 and thru it in neutral. Any mach owners have these problems? Also heard these cars get the "tick" from the heads too. Any help would be great! Also has the ford premium care warranty till 2010. Here is a list of mods.
    http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...ad.php?t=85163

Here are some specifics on the car if you did not know already:
    -Azure Blue-limited production
    -4.6L 32V DOHC V8
    -5 Speed Manual
    -Interior Upgrade Package
    -Leather Seats
    -Shaker Hood

The mods that I have included are essentially all either cosmetic or interior modifications.

List on mods is as follows:
    • Flowmaster Mufflers
    • MRT Intake
    • MRT Stainless Steel Catted H Pipe
    • Window Tint: 20% on sides, 5% on rear
    • Viper $500 Alarm System
    • Sirius Satellite Radio with Head Unit and Antenna built in
    • Hood Struts from MRT
    • Headrests Embroidered w/ Mach 1 in Blue Lettering from HRE
    • MGW Billet Accessories- Interior and Engine
    • Honeycomb Panel on Rear from CDC
    • Chrome Letters on Rear Valance
    • Brushed Aluminum Mach 1 Skid Plates
    • Sequential Tail Lights
    • Billet Fuel Door with Mach 1 Logo from UPR
    • Engine, Dash and Trunk signed by Scott Hoag
    • Hood Blacked Out
    • Calipers in front Painted Blue
    • Strut Covers
    • MRT Racing Banner

I do have all the original parts. The mufflers, air intake, etc… I have a 2005 mustang shift knob that I never put on the car also which is included.

Like I said before it was included in the Mustang Enthusiast Magazine and had a 4 page article about it. It has won multiple trophies from car shows that I attended. It is signed by Scott Hoag who was the President leader of the development for the Mach 1 and Bullitt Mustang development at Ford. He’s now the President of MRT (Mustang Racing Technologies)

The car has all receipts for maintenance (oil changes, etc.) I washed around once a week, waxing about every 3 weeks. I made sure to use microfiber wash mitts and towels to wash it with. I also found Swifter Dusters worked great on the engineJ

    can't log-in to the link...

how many miles? what's the price?

why throw the car in neutral at "over 50mph" and see if it stalls?

why throw the car in neutral at any speed to see if it stalls?

maybe everybody's car stalls??? why do this?

doesn't sound like anything a good tune can't fix.

Used to have a Mach. CAI's on these cars have a notorious habit of causeing random stalls, nothing to worry about. If it has an aftermarket shifter in it they all cause noise to be transmitted from the tranny. There is (was?) a guy called Cobra Bob that used to sell little gasket kits that quiet them down.

Car has 24000 miles and the price is 14500. Whats with the head tic issue any one heard of machs doing this. And the rear shock tower has a bad weld, he got it fixed but i read a ton of mach owners had to have this fixed. Any one hear fo that. It does have a cai and aftermarket shifter.

The head tick is a common occurence with modular motors. The timing chain tensioners cause the tick a lot of times. Another thing to watch out for is the motor eating a spark plug. The spark plug holes don't have that many threads and this was a recall by ford.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
