    auto and gears

I have a 2001 Mustang GT AUTO. My next mod will me gears I know for sure. But idk which ones. 4:10s or 4:30's. I will not do 3:73's or lower or 4:56's higher. It's thoughs 2 I can't decide between. It's a weekend car and I pretty much only do dig races. some rolls at times. The track is once a year. But I want the best punch. I am concered with top speed. I want atleast 120 and I will be doing a SCT x3 tune with a custom tune. Do you have or knowanyome with a 4R70W 99-04 GT that runs 4:30's?(auto)

    Thanks alot

    Scott

I wish I could help a fellow 4R70W'er..I'm almost certain you have 3.27's, right?..I'm a bit stumped myself on gear choices, I was told 3.73's since I drive it daily but..I'm sure someone will chime in.

in a v6 auto ...YES! it will rev out to fast with 4.10s. the gt's redline higher tho so you can get away with 4.10s in a auto gt

any car will rev out faster to shift to 2nd and so on. the gt redlines higher so it will take longer for the shift so you stay in the power band a little longer. in a v6 since it redlines at 5k you will go through the power band to fast

    the v6 will

4.10's in the auto for a daily and 4.30's for a track whore. I had 4.10's in my 01 gt auto and daily drove it for 3 years. Also I could still hit around 130 in 3rd with the 4.10's so top speed really isn't an issue.
