    28 spline vs 31 spline axle?

    Im not really a big gear head but what the hell is a 28 or 31 spline axle? the reason i ask... is because, im doin a 5 lug conversion on a 92 lx and i dont know what im supposed to get. any help is welcome. thanks guys
    2003 Cobra w/ very mild mods, Magnaflow catback and cold air intake

    1992 Mustang lx hatch back, cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, offroad h pipe, mac muffs with dumps.

    1988 Toyota pickup w/ 4inch suspension lift on BFG 33's Stainless steel header and full exhaust

    if you have the stock diff in the 92 then 28 spline is what you need.

    31 spline is stronger but you would also need a 31 spline differential, 28 is stock.

    If you are not planning on making any real power, 28 is fine.

    Unless you plan on using slicks or sticky drag radials save your money, you should be fine on 28 splines.
    If you have the cash and plan on racing, you would need the above mentioned parts---31 spline differential (center section of the axle), 31 spline axles and you should consider a diff. cover and C-clip eliminators.
