The Carrington event comprised eight days of severe space weather."

There were eyewitness accounts of stunning auroras, even at equatorial latitudes. The world's telegraph networks experienced severe disruptions, and Victorian magnetometers were driven off the scale.

"The result is runaway current in the transformer's copper wiring, which rapidly heats up and melts. This is exactly what happened in the Canadian province of Quebec in March 1989, and six million people spent 9 hours without electricity. But things could get much, much worse than that."

I dunno about end of world stuff. Just the Pole shift and galactic alignment. 2012 is going to be interesting. I give the Mayans credit for figuring out stuff that they never ever saw in the people's entire history. Course they did have a way of killing each other off so to them it would be end of times.

its pretty interesting stuff, but the bible does say no man knows when the end of the world is comming. So I am not going to worry about that, I have to much stuff to worry about then the end of the world, I.E. my job and bills bills and bills
