Thumbs up Big thanks go out to Mike & Jon Lund

I just wanted to post up my dyno experience from this weekend and give credit where it is due. After a couple of weeks of tinkering in the garage finalizing all of the wiring of my nitrous kit in preparation for it to be tuned by Jon Lund on Saturday, it was time to see what kind of power the car would make with the new larger 3" exaust, steeper 4.10 gears (had 3.73's before), and higher 112 octane leaded fuel (Car was tuned on VP109 unleaded before).

The day started at 6 AM when Mike (Wolfpack) drove out to Mt. Pleasant from Pittsburgh to pick my car up, that alone was above and beyond the call of duty IMO. Once there we unloaded the car and started to help out getting things ready to go, everything was well organized and Jon was there early and jumped right into finishing the tuning on Chargin04gt's car and onto the next car. In the meantime I threw on a 2.93 upper pulley on Mikes new zinc 03 cobra while him and the crew were busy straping down and hooking up the cars.

The Sonic beast was up next and it was time to see how things worked out. My previous dyno numbers were 508 HP & 548 TQ on the blower and 596 HP & 750 TQ on a small dry shot of Nitrous( .049 Jet). I really wasn't expecting the numbers to be as high as last time due to the larger exaust I had to put on because the old bassani stuff would not fit around the Mcleod safety bellhousing, steeper gears (They hurt dyno numbers), higher octane fuel I had to use due to not being able to get any MS 109 unleaded in time (The more octane you add over what is required for your tune, the less power you make), and lastly dynoing on slicks this time compared to et streets last time.

Jon started off by evaluating my old tune and took the time to show me a few things that were overlooked in the SGS tune and then went to work on building a new race gas tune. After 3 supercharger only pulls the final numbers were 476 HP & 535 TQ. and the car made just shy of 17lbs of boost at peak. Very nice numbers IMO. Next up was the tune for the N2O and it took 3 pulls to dial it in and the final numbers were 579 HP & 750 TQ. and the car made just shy of 19 LBS of boost on the ole heaton blower. IAT temps were in the low 80 degree temps on the spray.

Overall it was a great experience in every aspect, Mike and his crew worked quickly and efficiently to insure things went smoothly, the shop was well organized, Jon took time to answer any questions presented to him and didn't rush through anything, and last but not least, there was a great turn out of SCS members there to hang out. The rain even held off.

Thanks to Wolfpack, Jon Lund, Jeff @ 1st Try for the loaner N2O bottle, and everyone else who helped to make it all a success. It was also nice to meet some new members and see some people that I haven't seen in a while.

sounds like it was a blast!!! I really want to make it to the next one. Id also love a new tune! im wondering what was overlooked on mine too. when i had mine done the first time I was rushed. I did 3 pulls and it was over in about 20 25 min!! Im thinking there still is more to be had on my tune. im considering lund for a reflash.

Nice numbers lou!! very impressive and still on the stock eaton!!!

Sounds like the normal standard for Mike, his shop and its affiliates.

Sounds like a good time for sure. If I hadn't been feeling ill and didn't have to work for most of the morning, I would have stopped down.

Oh well, I'm working out something for my soon to be next car. So I'm sure I'll be down there getting work done and using the dyno very shortly.

Thanks Kevin but I don't know about that? You have the experience, weight and traction advantage! Plus my car is completely over-rated ...

Are you pulling your Term out for the April 18th dyno day?
