    Thoughts on new truck

I have been looking for a new diesel truck ever since last oct. when I regretfully got rid of my Amarillo. I was in Virginia over the weekend and ran across this truck and it really caught my eye. There original price on this thing was insane but I was able to negotiate what I think is a very good deal on the truck.

They are taking 26k off of the sticker and giving me 1k more for my trade than I paid for it new back in oct. If you factor in what my truck is really worth on trade they are taking over 30k off of this one. It works out to my 08 f150 plus 18k for this truck. Just trying to decide if I want to go another 18k in debt.

    What do you think?

Also to add..The best deal I have been able to work on pretty much the same truck but without all the extras on it is my truck and 12k. So do you think the extras on this truck are worth 6k?

I can't answer your question but that sure is a nice truck! The red mustang's from the Mon Valley would like being towed behind it too!

Thats a big part of the delima. These new 6.4 are bad ass. With just a tuner DPF delete and intake they are making 550hp and 1200# tq to the wheels. They are heavy as hell though. Average about 1500# more than a similar 07. That truck is probably close to 9000#

Ya diesel are heavy but they are badass. I would get that and screw the F-150. Towing a diesel cannot be beaten. Though I would get an extended drivetrain warranty just in case. The 6.4's make power and capable of a bit more but they had/have their issues. Rad problems egr problems. Hands down diesel over a gasser especialy for a tow rig. Though I might be a lil bias .

PFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!! It is way overpriced for what they paid for it. They paid 26-27k for it off another dealer and are asking 32k last I checked. Cummins is where the power is Durasmacks do a nice job too.

Dont care bout that. Cummins wont be bankrupt and there is plenty of aftermarket parts for the truck and the motor to not worry about for a long time.

    But, Cummins > powerstroke. IMO.

The Ford truck is better though.

The dodge trucks cant touch the power the 6.4's are getting with just a tune and eliminating the DPF. The dodge trucks are still a little faster because they are lighter but the ford will drag it all over the place. If you want a truck to race buy a dodge or even a chevy. If you are looking for something to pull with then get the ford. A new ford weighs about 2000# more than a similarly equipped new chevy or dodge.

Well the cummins has 600 ft/lb tq for some time now. The perfect truck would be a Cummins motor allison trans and a ford body/suspension. Don;t get me wrong I loved my powerstrokes. Loved my superduty trucks. If the math is right one what mods are done on mine is just passed the 800ft/lbs of torque somewhere. course thats for now hehe.
