My Warrior

Just thought I toss up a few pics of my quad. Its an '87 Warrior (first year) that I bought from a friend. I'm the third owner. He bought it stock and did all the work to it. All I do is ride it! She's a little old and doesn't look the prettiest, but its a fun ride...I guess you can say that about all my girls. Anyway, I bought it dirt cheap and I can build one from parts on Ebay if I have to.

Here are the specs:
350cc punched out to 435cc
6-speed w/reverse
DG pipe and front bumper
6-pack rack
Full under-body armor
Brand new Dunlop KT335 Radials on the rear (only because the old ones litterally rotted off the rims at the Tour de Forest last fall and the Yamaha dealer up there only had this one set in a 9" rim)

It was clocked at 72 mph in 5th gear at half throttle. That was also with the old owner riding it who weighed 240 lbs at the time.

I did take my other buddy's stock 660 Raptor off the line all the way into fourth. When I hit 5th, he started pulling ahead. I backed off at that point since his rear tires were shooting railroad ballast at me like bullets. We're both curious to see if I can come out on top in the top-end since his is only a 5-speed and mine's a 6....we'll see.

Yeah, but the beer gets all foamy. The guy I bought the Warrior from has what he calls his "old man's quad." '08 Grizzly 700 FI with power steering. He takes the beer with him.

No idea. Maybe when Wolfpack has his open dyno day, I can throw the quad up on the rollers!

I don't know, but my buddy with Raptor wants to find out too!

Warriors were the shiznick back in the 80's - 90's! 4 stroke with reverse ... FTW!

A friend of mine had one when we were kids. We would have to rebuilding our 2 stroke motors in our Quad Racers & 250Rs (at least once a year) he would just laugh! When we got off our Racers & 250Rs to pull them from getting stuck he would just throw his in reverse and laugh!

.... now that I'm looking back why didn't I get one?
