    Summit Wheels

I needed a set of wheels to mount up with street tires for cruising and to/from the track. I put way too much abuse on the race rubber last year and ended up using two sets to get through the season. I really wanted another set of ProStars but it wasnt in the budget for new ones and used ones seem scarce so I picked a set of these up.

One of the knocks I've had against the Summit cast wheels is the lug nut bores being small and needing a thin wall socket at best to work. I know some have used the internal drive "tuner" lug nuts with some success. While surfing around, I found that McGard makes a spline drive lug nut. They seem to fit the bill pretty well.

Good enough for street tires to run around on. They sure arent Weld's, but oh well ;)

I didnt weight them as they will have street tires anyway, but they are darned heavy compared to real Welds. I would bet the my Weld / Hoosier combo weighs less than just the cast wheel.

Got tires on them today and on the car. Tires are 245/60/15 for normal street use.

If I dont go to the track tomorrow, it should be on the ground and ready to start driving. Still a lot of tuning to do on the MAF conversion but it runs and hits target AFR through 2.0 MAF volts :D

My money is on splitting the splined socket before the lugs are ever hurt. We can try on your car if you want ??

Well, that really depends on the material the lugs/tool are made of???
