    Got some ?s on Ford TSB

    ok, i have a 2005 Ford F150 Fx4 ext cab. Well i was coming home from work the other day, cruising along on 522 about 65-70 and went to kick it down to passing gear and the power was there but the rear end/yoke made a clunk sound. I know ford has a TSB(technical service bulletin) out on an issue similar to that. My questions are does it cost the customer anything for a TSB and what about a PCM reflash( i know i have to take the diablo programmer off my truck b4 i take it in but do they charge for a PCM reflash? i have the typical wait time when i kick it down into passing gear when the programmers not on it. I guess its due to the electronic throttle. The truck runs and drives great and i dont have any other compliants about it but that clunk makes me worry a lil bit. its not the first time its done it. but it only does it when i mash down on it at speeds over 65 or when im coming up to make a turn and i brake n then as i go into the turn i step on the gas to make it up the hill. any help would be great with this issue. I know a few of you have 04 and newer f150s.

    TSBs are not RECALLS(which are free for the duration). TSBs are simply bulletins to help techs identify common problems/fixes. As long as your vehicle is still under warranty, whatever the TSB addresses is usually covered. Same with a PCM flash. Under warranty, they are covered. If not, I know Chevy and Ford charge our shop $85/per. But if you have a Diablosport, that itself FLASHES your pcm, so them reflashing it may not do you any good if your just gonna REFLASH it the moment you get home and plug your Diablosport in.     Yes it does answer my questions...the vehicle's out of warranty so guess when i take it in...its goin to be out of pocket for me....DOOOOOOL!

    I had a couple of TSBs done on my 2005 while under warranty. None really resolved the "noises" completely! Although the last time they added some lubricant additive which seamed to help the best. I've heard these noises are a characteristic of the limited slip?

    Mines got the 373LS rear end and the dealer keeps saying its normal but my ol man's truck is a 2000 with 355 gears in it and it doesnt make that sound. Can that grease be picked up at the dealer and put on myself or do i have to pay them too much to do it? thats the only issue ive had with this truck and i guess its not really an issue but its something that doesnt sound right to me.
