Best bang for your buck mods 99+ years

Ok, what are the best bang for your buck mods for these cars in these price ranges.

    $100
    $200
    $300
    $400
    $500

It would be on an all stock 99-04 mustang, 5 spd coupe. what are the best bang for your buck mods and are there any "free mods" to the newer 4.6s?

    Talking

Jesus, just buy mine and be done with it.

You'll get about $4K in parts and labor for free.

Seriously, looking at the big picture, you're dealing with a small V8... only 281 cubes and it has overhead cams which pushes most of your power into the 4-6,000RPM range. You need to put gears in the sumbitch first, then all the other basics cai/plenum/tb and full exhaust. cams and tune if you really wanna get stupid.

Like I stated above, you'll have about $4k in parts and labor when you're done and you'll make about 60-70 more hp than stock.

You'd have more fun if you got drunk and burnt the money.

Well i was not expecting any of this till i drove down the road on my bike and saw a mint new edge gt with a nice price tag and i pretty much (if people come through) have both my bikes sold and would leave a gap in my life but would get this instead of the harley so i just have to think and just tossing around the idea to see what i would be looking at. never old a mod motor mustang, just my truck and it has the 5.4.... So i understand alil but not alot.

Do these motors respond to mods as well as say the god touched ls1?

    no.

Like I said, you're dealing with a tiny V8 engine.

These are my opinions. Some of this stuff was dyno-proven.

    cai = 0-3hp / 100-300$

tb/plenum = 5hp maybe, but the throttle response alone is worth it. 300$

u/d pulleys = 7hp/more torque, best bang for buck mod for me. car revs a lot better 200$

    cat-back = 0-3hp 300-500$

o/r mid-pipe = 8-10hp maybe. if you can get your car inspected, it's worth it. some people claim you "lose" torque with an off-road mid-pipe, but that's just not true... it shifts your power further north in your RPM-range.

gears = 0hp on dyno, but feel like 50hp on the butt-meter if you go 4.10 or 4.30 = 500$ installed

I did stage I comp cams and longtube headers at the same time. I picked up about 40ft-lbs of torque and 40hp from 5-6,000rpms. It never lost anything on the bottom-end. It was just about even to 4,000rpms.

dyno-tune = 0-10hp on a n/a 4.6L. Not worth it unless you need a speedo change for gears or you got major driveability problems. 300-500$

I'll take the blue one and $9,000 cash.

I thought you were trying to sell me something. You should have taken the car for a ride. We're stupid.

I may know where there's a '99 cobra convertible with mods, including a forged motor waiting for boost.

P.S. the 4-valves response much better to mods than the 2-valves

honestly BEST bang for the buck. Gears. like everyone said....its hard to get these cars going but they can and will if you put in time and effort.

mine is slow, but take a ride in marks. bolt-on car = 12.88

I would have to say thats a good response to mods.....14.1 stock to 12.88 with gears, LT's, custom exhaust, cai, TB/plenum, tuner, on M/T ET streets.

Stay with the ls1. I wish I would have kept my Corvette instead of buying my mustang.
