HD video and what kind of battery's does it take? Seams most manufactures have moved away from AA & AAA .... I had a real nice Nikon back in the early 2000's that needed special battery's .... NEVER AGAIN!

I'm a S3-IS user & it's a good camera. I have some excellant pics with this camera. The newer version is the SX10-IS.

For work I needed something cheap & use a Canon A590-IS. It takes nice 7MP shots for $109.95 & has a 4X zoom & does video. Not as nice as my personal S3-IS but, pretty good for the $$$.

As for cameras & batteries, I never want a proprietary battery camera again. My Canons use AA batteries. Why, if you're ever on a trip & need batteries, any drug store or conveinence store carries AA batteries. I use rechargable Sanyo Eneloop or Energizer nickel metal hydride batteries. Alkaline batteries are waste of time & money in digital cameras.
