    Question 3G alternator upgrade questions

i have some questions on wiring my 87 for the 3G upgrade.

1.) i cut the power plug off. i solder the yellow wire from my car's harness to the small connector with a white wire that came off of the 3G. correct?

2.) should i put ring terminals on the black/orange wires and put them on the power stud WITH a 4 gauge wire also on the stud that goes to the starter relay.

    OR

should i tape off the black/orange wires and just run the 4 gauge wire for power?

Follow those "two" black/orange 10awg wires about 12" to the connection where they, for some stupid reason, merge into 1, cut one of them off and put a ring terminal on the other. Use some 4awg as a supplement for the higher amperage and go straight to the "hot" side of the started relay with it.

I cant remember about the yellow wire. I know the stator wire comes out of the regulator side of the alternator. I just cant remember the yellow wires significance.

Just run the 4 Gauge wire. If your fuse blows you don't want all the power going through the 10 gauge wires.

If you blow a 150 amp fuse, you probably have an issue worth looking at immediately.

I would also suggest you upgrade the grounding from the motor to chassis. I don't know of the battery to chassis also needs to be upgraded.

thanks for the tip. so maybe a ground from say the block to the firewall would be a good one to use?
