Picked up a scooter today! It's a 2004 Sportster 883 Custom with 654 miles. I know it's a small bike but I wanted something small and inexpensive to hold me over until I could afford a "MANS BIKE"!
The only issue is some oxidation & rust (seller let the bike sit for two years in a drafty garage??) but I was able to work a smoking deal! "It was so good, I had to buy it"! Does anyone have any trick methods or know of a great product to help with my scrubbing & polishing?

Mine only had 777 miles on it when I bought it. I was rooting around on some Sportster forums and somebody mentioned the bottom rubber-mount on the motor might be loose from the factory. Well, mine was. It felt like a different bike after I tightened it up. You will have to remove the forward controls to get to the bolt. OR, if/when you take it in to a dealer for the 1,000 mile service, have them check it.
It's kinda hard to see, but go to where the red x is in this pic and see if you can see any threads at all coming through the nut.
