True not all "work" on the cars but they support the manufacturing process in some way. Even if you cut that number in half Nissan, Toyota and Honda's number's still would not be close. Honda which has the biggest presents in the US with 7 auto plants, only employs a total of 19,000 ... keep in mind these are total employees not just assembly line workers.

Sorry ... but I would have to disagree with you 100%. There are over 450,000 active UAW members, which is down 100,000 from 2008. Even if you added all the Asian automakers US manufacturing jobs together you wouldn't even be close!

I am quite happy my car was designed and built by Holden AUS, the interior is not made from melted down pop bottles like every other Big 3 car produced here, it doesnt squeak, rattle and the hood shuts properly, a lot more then I can say for some recent v8 rwd's my friends have purchased.

Not saying Jap cars are track cars or fast or anything but I would buy one in a heart beat as a daily driver.

Even the imports are halting production for periods of time! The whole American Automotive industry is in a slump!

As far as your point ... this is a topic that a lot of people are passionate about. Sometimes their emotions get the best of them and they say things they wouldn't normally say.

I don't think alot of people realize it but if one of the big 3 goes down shit rolls down hill. Many parts are made by smaller companys who supply them. They will go too. Earlier in the year when Chrysler shut down we had alot of product shortages in our business because the smaller companys were forced to shut down also due to their main business being chrysler based.

I have a lot of pride American cars, just not the recent badge engineered garbage coming from the big 3.

Sorry to offend you, I will no longer look at built in the USA "Jap" cars for a daily driver and instead buy built in Canada/Mexico "US" cars.

Right on the mark Lou. Nobody can comprehend how tied together this all is with the big three, the "suppliers", and the aftermarket. This is why I have been off a week a month for the last few months and see it going on for some time in to the summer.

At least people havent forgotten pearl harbor. I don't like most asian if not all asian cars for several reasons. They attacked us we blew the shit out of them and without our help they wouldnt have rebuilt. Now they own a shit load of our own country. Hate that fact. Alot of it is our own fault. Poor parenting, lazy ass society. Not to mention those that see a throw away society as a good thing hence the cheap foreign cars. Sure the big 3 cost more but it helps your own country first. Yes, we all know where parts come from regardless the money comes to this country first.
Will I try and kill as many foreign cars/trucks with my american made diesel truck you betcha, if I get beat by a truck it will only happen once hehe. I guess what you don't like are us Extremist Patriots course aren't you a liberal left winger?

Hating on Jap cars has NOTHING to do with remembering Pearl Harbor, perhaps in your far right extremist mind but it was 70 years ago... we turned 2 of their cities to ****ing dust and they are one of our strongest allies now. You seem like someone who would have no problem going out and running over a group of Asians while screaming about Pearl Harbor

The big 3 cost more and 90% of the time they do not even hold a stick to the jap cars in build quality, fit & finish and reliability.... seems like an easy choice if you are looking for a cheap reliable daily driver.
